Friday Update #4 2018-05-11 · 4:43pm May 11th, 2018
Another week draws to a close. This time, I've got a fair bit of work done with Chapter 03 -- Of Friends and Nightmares.
A lot of the work has been to go through the original events and figure out how much of it was just me having stupid ideas as a new writer to insert into the story and how much of it really should be in there. I've removed a fair bit of superfluous stuff that I was trying to use as exposition but all it ended up doing was killing the pacing and making the chapter too disjointed and cluttered.
So after rearranging a few things, I got about 1500 more words finished. The aim is to make everything flow much more naturally. I'm also considering presenting the action sequence at the end in three continuous perspectives rather than switching POV twelve times throughout the action. This is tricky since the entire moment is not witnessed by any one of them. A bit of backtracking will be necessary and only two POV switches rather than twelve. Will continue to push through, writing new prose to replace the stale stuff. It seems to be going pretty smooth.
Additionally, BDK is back and creating some new art. We've been discussing where best to use his talent, and he's come up with a fun little project where he will take the zebra prophecy from the top of chapter 1 (Induction) and turn it into a rather dark little comic about Nightmare Moon. Will post in the forum when he's finished, which should only be a few more days.
