Samantha/Pinkie fighting for control over a single body: I drew inspiration for this off of
Split Conscience, a story that hasn't been updated in over a year.
Poetic chapter titles/chapter titles tell a second story: Equestria Forever. I really liked the idea of the chapter titles being like that, but not the way it carried out in that story.
Retired/out of practice Professor that serves as a guide/mentor: Lab Horse series, which essentially was the predecessor to Pony-Me as far as my sci-fi stories go.
The main plot of the story: What If.... Pony-Me is based on one of the what if scenarios presented in that story, after all.
