I'm having a good night tonight, and just saw something pony-related that cracked me up repeatedly, so I thought I'd share it. It's not new, but it's new to me, and mayhaps you'll find it as funny as I did.

If you don't know what the game Crusader Kings II is, think Civilization, but focused on dynasties in the middle ages instead of on countries. You play as whoever happens to be the head of your house, and try to get your dynastic politics on while occasionally taking a break to go claim Jerusalem from the infidels. Great fun, lots of ridiculous things can happen.

Anyway, this is the tale of a man who found a series of loopholes in the game that allowed him to bring a horse into his dynasty. This is the tale of him doing just that, then proceeding to systematically eliminate all humans in the old world, ushering in a new age of equinity.

Also, there are just so many horse puns.

Without further adieu, I give you: From Norse to Horse!

That was amazing.

I tried playing CKII because a friend told me it was free on Steam recently. I opened the game, started a new game, took a look at all the stuff available as options for you to control, went "NOPE" and quit, never to return. :V But this was really fun to read.

That... that is awesome

This is beautiful =D

Heh, Brownie Bun. Now there's an appropriate name for a human/horse Viking lass. :raritywink:

Love it. Makes me disappointed I've never gone through with a Pony-themed Civ game.

Thanks to the wonders of group participation, this is actually canon in one of my AUs. (Why did you think those humans had pony names?)

I remember reading this before. Fun story. Thanks for reminding me of it.

That's wonderful. Thank you. I hope the developers don't "fix" this loophole.

The steam site on Crusader Kings II says you can't begin the game any earlier than 1066. Is that a change? It looks like to play the game like this guy did, you have to buy $100 of add-on packs.

There is an add-on pack called "Horse Lords", but it's just more barbaric horse slavery.

...are you kidding me? Of all possible titles, Twilight gets "The Unfaithful"?
