Not really big on fanfic writing, but when I'm in the mood I'll jot something down from time to time. I'd much rather frequent sites like YouTube, DeviantArt, and Facebook

UniqueSKD does Dark Souls for his channel! · 10:28pm Apr 30th, 2018

I recently purchased an Elgato Gaming Capture cad device and downloaded the Elgato recording software onto my laptop. Tomorrow I will be doing my first episode of a Dark Souls playthrough, and I want to know how you think I should edit my videos.

Do you think I should record long-length episodes, or should I edit my content to show only important and/or funny moments?

Please give your opinions, as your feedback would be hugely appreciated so that I canget a start on doing my own gaming series.

Latter. Too many do unedited playthroughs of things so you should try and stand out a bit.

So you think I should keep things short and sweet?

I second Starskimmer’s remarks. In fact, I don’t really care for watching people play games, but I do enjoy concise clip compilations and montages. I gravitate toward the ones under 5 minutes in length, but if I really like the game or YouTuber, I’ll stick around.

This is just my opinion; but you should do whatever energizes you the most.
When you watch someone else play a game; you're not just there for the game experience.
You're there for how the player's experiences while playing it:derpytongue2:

I’d say keep it to 20-30 minutes. Anything other than that, and people will think it’s too long to be worth watching, unless you’re Mark or Jack.

I'm considering about 10 to 15 minutes for my videos.

Why not both? Do them like I do. About 15 minutes or so in length and everyone once in a while, when inspiration hits you or you get an idea, do a funny edit. It keeps the audience on their toes.
