I've finished the prologue rewrite, which is currently being reviewed by the development team. It seems to be ready to go.
There are a couple issues worth mentioning. First, it ended up getting kind of long. Second, the ending scene didn't have the kind of tension we felt a prologue needed. So we talked it over and decided to make an interesting change.
The new prologue has been split into two chapters. Also, it will no longer be a "prologue" but proper story chapters. This means everything gets a chapter number shift. The new order is as follows:
01 - Induction
02 - Aftermath
03 - Of Friends and Nightmares
04 - Life in the Battlefield
05 - Ruling by Moonlight
etc.
In the process of reviewing things, I've discovered that Of Friends and Nightmares needs an overhaul. The first part where we have the nightmare sequence followed by Nyx's nighttime musings needs a complete rewrite because it reads like a story introduction, which it no longer is. Also, there are some things which could be cut, namely Rumble's systems checks and Nyx's walk through the orchard. This is too exposition heavy and meanders around away from the main plot.
As a result, I'll be trying to quickly go over the Friends and Nightmares changes in the next few days before republishing the early chapters.
