Any of you working on a fic you're particularly excited about? I'm thinking that it's been awhile since I've written anything Flutterdash related. Though, I've also been toying with a Startrix (is that the ship name?) story for awhile.

After pausing (finally tbh) the one I was writing, I do actually have some ideas, and I feel quite positive about it (even if the fic itself is really NOT positive at all). Hard to find time though.

Ah, yes the search for cover art. I know it well. It's difficult to find something appropriate for your fic when you don't commission a drawing. I've been fortunate before to have an artist make art for some of my stories, but that isn't always feasible. Honestly, I've been debating on just releasing stories without cover art. I mean neither fanfiction nor Ao3 use cover art much. It's just a real pain since I like to ask artists if I can use their work for my fic. Kinda difficult when they haven't been active in several months. There's always Derpibooru, but I've never been comfortable just using another's work without asking first.
Ooh, dark and heartfelt is my kind of story. I've always enjoyed dealing with emotions, though it can be difficult to express them sometimes. Can you give any hints to your fic?

Sure thing! In my head, it's an EQG AU where Sunset didn't lose, and that leads to a number of things until she comes to herself only to realize what she has done.
It probably going to be a one-shot (albeit a long one, I hope), to test myself to see if I'm still able to write something decent. It's gonna be sad, it's gonna be dark, and I already have the ending planned.

Color me intrigued! I've pondered about what would happen if Sunset won the Fall Formal over the years. (I do love a good sad and dark fic.) I wish you luck in writing your story. It's great to test what you can do as a writer. I like to test myself from time to time (with varying results).
