Magic Drain was founded on the 29th of October 2017 by Professor Twilight Particle and Doctor Sunset Shimmer.

In the following 4 years, it has grew from a collection of scientists dedicated to study the newly discovered energy known as Magic, into a nation-wide agency incorporating education centres, hospitals and military stations.

Magic Drain has now become a household name as the de facto organisation to spearhead humanity’s technological and inter-dimensional advancement, mostly through its encounters with D2.

Twilight Particle.

Born 10th of August, 1996.

Showing a keen interest in gaining knowledge from a very small age, often described with words like ‘child prodigy’ and ‘genius’, it is no wonder that she would end up becoming one of the most influential minds of our time.

Sporadic mentions of her work can be found from all throughout her academic carrier. But her biggest discovery would come when she was only 17 years old. During her studies at Crystal Prep Academy, she stumbled upon a strange energy being projecting from Canterlot High School.

Whilst investigating on the scene she met Sunset Shimmer, a student at the school who performed similar tests on this strange energy.

She would later publish their findings in “The Principles of Magic” which would become the bulk of continued research done on the subject of Magic.

Since then, her career has gone straight up. She completed her secondary education with aplomb, moving on to tertiary studies at the University of Paulenet Academia and earing her academic rank of Professor.

Sunset lived a relatively normal life. Despite showing great potential in school, it wasn’t until entering Canterlot High School that sheeeeeeeee/%/ee&e&&<<e%/

/-/####%&//e received her honorary doctorate from the University of Poulenet Academia for her discoveries in the field of Magic.

She would later make headlines when revealing that she was in fact a native from D2 on prime time TV, where she told her story, from growing up on an orphanage until she ran away. To her casting away her old world in favour of ours.

Despite the reveal sparking outrage among many, fearing that her old life would affect her in the position as CEO of Magic Drain, her continued actions for the betterment of our world has silenced most, if not all that initially called for her reassignment.

Perhaps a strange name given its pseudo-scientific association, but that is what Twilight Particle named it in her research paper. Many scientists have since tried to introduce an alternate name, but Twilight has refused any such notion.

As far as we know, Magic has its origin in its native dimension D2, where it has been described as an all-encompassing force that allows its inhabitants to do spectacular things beyond our understanding. Including small scale levitation of objects, manipulating weather, grow crops at an unprecedented rate, and much more.

However, years of studies by Doctor Sunset Shimmer has proved that repeated exposure to Magic is lethal to creature of our world. That, coupled with the insurgence of patients diagnosed with Magic induced Autoimmune Disease has led to several organisations to help found research and development of medical equipment and hospitals in tandem with Magic Drain.

This founding eventually resulted in the opening of Canterlot Hospital for Magical Espial last year, to provide proper care for anybody affected.

Symptoms wary from person to person, but common effects reported include euphoria, irritability, nausea, fever, scrambled thoughts, itchiness in the extremities and illusory superiority, later to be replaced with depression, dread, fatigue, blindness, paranoia, loss of feeling in hands and feet, arthritis, psychosis, necrosis and kidney failure as exposure continue.

Furthermore, it is theorised that people affected by magic exclude an aura of confidence, known as the Demagogue Effect, making them seem more trustworthy, charming or worthy of awe, love and praise in the eyes on non-exposed people.

Dimension 2, abbreviated as D2, is a parallel dimension tied to our world.

Little is known about this other world, but we know that it is there. Both our worlds tie together through certain spots known as “portals”. Think of them as something akin to bridges, theoretically allowing passage from one world to another. One of such being the Ground Zero portal of Canterlot High School. Spontaneous portals, known as “rifts” have been known to appear from time to time.

What we do know is that D2 is filled with Magic, and that every opening between our worlds presents an opportunity for it to flow into our world.
As such, we at Magic Drain have dedicated ourselves to always be on alert for these openings so that we may quarantine the area and close the portal, to prevent harm.

We still don’t know how friendly this other world is to ours. But because Magic presents us with a clear danger, we continue to advice caution until such a day where we can engage in safe and mutual contact.
