Things I've Learned from Writing · 3:12pm Apr 2nd, 2018
1. You can't always please everyone, so make sure you please yourself by enjoying every second you write
2. If you feel the emotions you want to convey in a scene while writing, then those emotions are more likely to manifest in a scene
3. We can draw from our own emotional experiences to write; our own happiness, sadness, love, and joy
4. There will always be plot holes (and not just the kind involving horsie butts) so make sure you consider the plot carefully
5. What makes you laugh won't always make everyone else laugh, but it's a good place to start
6. Writing and sharing creates community, which encourages further writing
7. Write what you can when you can
8. Somedays will be better for writing than others
9. Writing becomes easier if you make it a daily schedule
10. Reading other peoples' works can make you a better writer
11. Writing is therapeutic
12. Writing can make you feel valuable and improve your self-esteem
13. Outlines can help, but it can also be fun to not know where you're going
14. You write to share with others
15. Love what you do and do what you love
All very good lessons, I have to say. Thanks for sharing them.
Probably the most important one to me!
