Hey guys, just wanted to share my thoughts on a few things in the season 8 premiere. First off, I must express how much I HATE that bastard Chancellor Neighsay. He's just a closed-minded bigot who doesn't believe in anything but himself. I say the only thing Equestria needs protection from are ponies like him.
However, he was sorta right about one thing though; there should be some kind of class to teach ponies, as well as other creatures to defend themselves and Equestria from future invaders like that Storm King jerk. Of course, Twilight wants students and not soldiers, she and people like her see the best in people. Me? I think we should hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
The last thing are the leaders of the other kingdoms, I know they were all worried about their students but willing to go to war is a little extreme, though ironically it is something they all have in common; they care about their subjects so much that they are willing to go that far. However, I still think they were being idiots and they were wrong to have kept to themselves for so long, otherwise forming alliances wouldn't be so hard. Reminds me of how T'Challa called out his ancestors on keeping themselves isolated from the world. And to quote T'Challa:
In times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe
I agree with that wholeheartedly and believe something like that should be said to the leaders of all the kingdoms. Plus the aforementioned 'foolish' who'd rather build walls then bridges sound a lot like Neighsay and a certain President of the US.
A powerful statement, I like it and can very easily agree
Totally agree.
All very true on everything
Given what's going on in Eupore, with the mass 'migration' (cough) (invasion) (cough), and the collapse of the European Union on the horizon as member nations are slowly being culturally obliterated, I'd wager there is a lot of Germans, Poles, French, Spaniards, Portuguese, Italians, Swedes, Norwegians, Greeks, just to list a few of the nations of Europe that would love to have walls now.
Also if you ask any number of tribes native to the Americas if they had a wall to keep out the European settlers back in the 1600's, they would likely say yes. Heck in Canada there's this push among the liberals to 'de-colonize' or unsettle it and expunge the Canadians of European descends there.
History is full of examples of entire nations and cultures that opened their gates being obliterated.
If you hate politicians, and love bringing together an awesome cast of students like X-men, say aye!
Were you able to catch my story about the Storm King, by any chance?
