Yet Another Theory Will Sunset EVENTUALLY Become an Alicorn · 12:57am Mar 10th, 2018
I have to start making theory videos because I seem to have a lot of them. Anyway, I know this theory has been done before but most of them have been proven false between 'The Legend of Everfree' and 'A Forgotten Friendship'. Now, Sunset being the character she is and having those Equestrian roots, her eventually becoming an Alicorn doesn't seem all that that far fetched. However, since it's kind of obvious that Sunset has chosen the human world over Equestria, I guess it doesn't really apply all that much but still.
Again, background information is necessary.
In the show and even in comic, 'The Fall of Sunset Shimmer', we can see that one can become an Alicorn if Celestia deems you worthy of the title and she casts the spell that only another Alicorn can cast. Twilight had proven herself in the many trials she was given and eventually was granted her title at the end of the 3rd season. We can also assume Cadence had earned hers way before she started to babysit Twilight. However, that isn't always the case as the first Alicorn had to be born as such OR they had earned their wings naturally.
Now, let's look at the human world. Magic there doesn't abide by the laws of regular Equestrian magic as there are no such thing as unicorns, pegus, or, in the Equestrian sense of the term, earth ponies. However, it seems that even before Sunset stole Twilight's crown, magic had still existed as we had discovered by the initial appearance of the Sirens'. Now, at the formal, the human world's magic had been exposed to Equestrian magic via the rainbow wave the mane 6 used to take down Sunset's demon form. Since then, magic had acted in strange ways that even Sunset had mentioned doesn't work the same as in Equestria. So, it could do literally anything.
Now, my theory is that with the influence of the magic from both worlds, Sunset could earn her wings naturally. It seems that out of all her friends Sunset has an astonishing combination of all their elements. Besides, the point is made before she went through the mirror for the first time that she wanted to be a princess but was undeserving of the title. It would make sense that, after Sunset's long road to redemption to end with her truly earning her wings. Besides, we can see that Sunset has come a long way and she is more than deserving.
Now, you might ask what princess she would be but I believe it depends on your interpenetration. For me, I see Sunset as one of two things. One, is the Princess of Redemption. Not only has she been down that road her self but as we've seen, she's been helping others to see a different path like Juniper Montage, Wallflower Blush and even the human Twilight. It seems that Sunset believes that everyone deserves a second chance and rightfully so. She has, save for Juniper, been the one to reach out her hand first in forgiveness.
The second one is, for lack of a better term, the princess of the mirror. Basically, if you come up with a better title let me know, Sunset is the Princess that oversees the magic going from Equestria to the human world and dealing with any of the problems that arise because of it.
So, there it is. I know it's kind of all over the place but whatever. So, I would love to hear your thoughts and theories!
