IN WHICH I WORK AND DON'T
First off, as always, I owe my readers an apology for my lack of new stories. However, I have spent much of this afternoon writing. That's sort of progress. See this is why, with the exception of my Mayor Mare stories, I try not to promise anything, because I don't want to let you down. Anyway, click the "Read More" for info.
I'm still working on my Sunset story that's only tangential to Recovery -- same universe, same continuity, but a side story that I made a promise to myself I would write. Just like with Annie, it just keeps growing in the details. I'm sitting here writing and thinking "Get on your goddamn scooter! Get to the fucking credit union already! Get to Radio Row!" Yet I also have to explain things and, since the story turned out to be from Rarity's perspective, that means I must throw in one-sided unresolved sexual tension. I swear the story will get to where it's going, even if turns out to take many more words than I expected.
Now, onto more important things. This is what I originally planned to write this blogpost about. Apparently in canon, Sunset has finally made contact with Celestia. Please do not spoil it for me, because I already have written down how it's going to happen in my own universe which, once Recovery is published and the arc ends, will gain the AU tag. Here's why:
Nothing After Rainbow Rocks Is Canon To My EQG Stories, Period.
Okay, that's only mostly true -- Crystal Prep does exist; I just haven't found a good place to mention it.
The reason I put that sentence in what amounts to big flashing neon lights is because I've long intended a special role for Sci-Twi very different from what she does in canon. This requires she never meet the rest of the EQG crew before the time is right, and that won't be for a VERY long while. I can't say more than that yet, except that I hope you'll enjoy what I have planned once I finally start it… whenever that may be.
I've got a lot on my writing plate -- finish the story I'm working on right now, then finish And That's Good Enough, which leads in to the last two Recovery Arc stories I drafted months ago. Make substantial changes to those based on Coffee's feedback, although who knows what he'll say after I post ATGE, which I've decided to also use to answer some questions he had, as well as make for more and better setup. Finish Octavia's Burritoverse story after Moth gave me some much-needed help (thanks). Maybe do either one or two Sonata-themed Burrito stories to close out that arc. Fix and repost Annie. Maybe start posting my Anon-A-Miss linked story. AND my mother wants me to go back to working on original stories that I can consider submitting to periodicals in hopes of earning income. The story I did last Halloween wasn't originally MLP at all; I repurposed it to be because I thought y'all deserved a nice present, and writing Yanderarity was fun! But now I have to un-ponify it, which requires work I can do but don't want to.
Given my infamously slow pace and usual lack of drive to do anything, I'm sure you can imagine how overwhelming that all seems. But I will do my best! Wish me luck!
