Just acquired it a few days ago. It's been fun so far, like a more serious, more complicated Oblivion. It's come at a good time since Bethesda's dragging its ass making the next Elder Scrolls. The combat's taken some cues from For Honor. I think it's better than just running in and swinging over and over. I like the bite of the weapons connecting and how damage actually accrues. The story is actually interesting.
I wish it had more customization with the character like picking anything besides being Henry. Perhaps, if the game does well, and it does appear to be doing well, they'll make another like it but a bit more fantastical and flexible.
The game loves to waste your time, though. There's a long loading screen to get to the title. There's a loading screen just to open your damn map. Every time I make Henry cut some herbs, the game has to show him bending down to cut them. I don't need to see that, game. Just make the flowers disappear like in an Elder Scrolls game so I can move on. The archery is horrendous. I get that you want realism, but you have to account for the fact that the player is removed from the character's body and thus cannot control precisely. I need a target reticule, game. I can't even hit shit that's ten feet away.
Sounds pretty good. This one is already on my wishlist, so I'll probably pick it up whenever I'm done with what I'm currently playing. Hopefully by that time it might've had a few patches to fix the worst of the issues you raise. Remember to give the devs your feedback directly!
Realism is nice, I'll allow, but for a few things there must be concessions made to playability, and aiming a ranged weapon that has no innate sights is one of them; give me some friggen' crosshairs! I'll adapt to needing to account for arrow drop, wind strength, and how much pull I'm putting on the string (if those are things in this game), but give me a bone and show me where the arrow should go if I get it right.
