very, very, very experimental fic continues its slow progress as the deadline for bicyclette's sci-fi contest draws near. these chapters are about on-par with what if in terms of length, but oh boy have they been an interesting experience to write.
yeah so anyway here is my webbed site lol. there's an MC Classic server for building whatever, and an MC Beta 1.7.3 server for playing survival. I might eventually also put up a modern vanilla server as well, though given how I'm hosting a bunch of servers already for friends and a couple of discord servers, idk if the little slab of a PC I'm using to host 'em all would be able to manage lol.
basically got one week left lol. got an experimental fic in the works that's a sort-of direct sequel picking off right where Splintershard ended. no prior reading is necessary.

I finally got the time to do my usual late-night writing, and what happens? I refresh the stats page, and somebody turned their like into a dislike, and untracked the story. Not bashing on them or anything, but helpful criticism is a lot better than just leaving me to try and figure out what went wrong after seeing a downvote materialize. :P

Tis how it is, mine friend. 99% of negative feedback hath a zilch less than zero constructive criticism in it. And if 't be true the naysayer appeareth in thy feed... for a change and thou askest, what exactly they dislike, they simply vanish.
I think I have a guess. My guess is that they were somewhat miffed by the fact that this latest chapter basically turned this fic into a stealth Friendship is Optimal fic, and they didn't like Friendship is Optimal. I am also not a fan of Friendship is Optimal, nor am I a fan of stealth-crossovers or stealth-AU fics. I probably won't down vote the story but I'm probably going to stop following it.

And honestly, I actually forgot that FiO was a thing. Do you think I should go back and edit the chapter to tone it down a notch, or should the next chapter elaborate and explain the details a bit more? 'Cause FiO is definitely not the direction this story is heading.
It's probably something with them, maybe. That or maybe they just don't like the story.

I've since edited and republished the chapter in question to further elaborate and clear up the reference to Friendship is Optimal. Would it be alright if I asked for you to give it a re-read? I didn't mean for the chapter to be a turn-off, nor did I realize that it was starting to enter Friendship is Optimal territory.
