Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse, Episode 17: The End of History?! Beerus, Demigra, and the Final Battle! · 12:27am Feb 24th, 2018

Welcome back!

Last time, the Demon God of Time Demigra began to make his move as Kinoa joined in the battle against Majin Buu to save the Earth.

Episode 17: The End of History?! Beerus, Demigra, and the Final Battle!

The entire final two arcs of the game's main story are scene blocked, so here's a summary:

Demigra jumps ahead to a time of peace on Earth--the time when Hakaishin Beerus arrives to challenge the Super Saiyajin God. When all hell breaks loose at the party and Beerus goes on a rampage, Kinoa gets involved in the battle to calm him down and keep him from destroying the Earth.

After Goku attains the God power and challenges Beerus above the Earth, Beerus suddenly gathers a massive destruction ball to destroy Earth. Goku passes out from fatigue, leaving Kinoa to stand alone against a god while Demigra gloats from afar...

...but suddenly, Beerus turns and throws his destruction ball at Demigra! Beerus reveals that he was aware of Demigra the entire time and only pretended to succumb to his magic. And, well...Beerus is pissed. Kinoa teams up with Beerus to fight Demigra, and it seems, at long last, as though the nightmare is over...

...but the attack on Beerus was a distraction from Demigra's real target!

Kinoa returns to the Time Nest with Beerus and Whis in tow, completely freaking Trunks out. Beerus is super pissed and wants to know where Demigra is so he can destroy him. Chronoa and Trunks beg Beerus to let them deal with Demigra because if Beerus fights him in Toki Toki City he'll rupture the time continuum or something.

Whis decides to test Trunks and Kinoa in battle against himself and Beerus. It's a difficult fight, but the Time Patrollers prevail. Beerus decides to go home and take a nap, leaving the defeat of Demigra to Trunks and Kinoa.

Demigra escapes his confinement. As all hell literally breaks loose in Toki Toki City, Chronoa uses the Dragonballs to make a wish...

The final battle gauntlet begins with a survival marathon from hell. First, Full Power Frieza, Perfect Cell, and Kid Buu come at you. Goku joins the fight partway through. When you defeat those three, Gotenks, Gohan, and Vegeta show up, all under Demigra's control. This battle is RIDICULOUS, as every opponent has two health bars and Goku honestly does not last very long.

Demigra attacks Toki Toki City and captures Tokitoki in a pill, swallowing it. Apparently Tokitoki is more than just some dumb bird, but the key to like, everything. Anyway, the battle against Demigra begins, but he corrupts Trunks with his power, forcing Kinoa to fight her own partner. After defeating Trunks, Demigra recovers and attacks a weakened Kinoa, trying to corrupt her with his dark power. Chronoa intervenes, and Goku shows up, having sensed Demigra because of his newfound Super Saiyajin God status. Goku and Kinoa fight Demigra and defeat him, but just when it seems all is over except to get Tokitoki out of him, Demigra explodes with massive power and disappears! Goku uses Shunkan Idou to follow...

Demigra has escaped to the Time Vault, where his plan is to erase all of history and replace it with a history of his own making. Goku and Kinoa prepare to fight, but Demigra strikes them down with mortal blows. Chronoa can only watch helplessly as the destruction of history begins.

Kinoa awakens in a bright, shining, serene place. She finds a Time Scroll which shows the events she just lived through. Using it, she returns to the Time Vault to stop Demigra. Due to Kinoa's interference, Goku is able to revive enough to attempt to block the destructive blast Demigra has unleashed, while Kinoa chases Demigra into the Time Crack. Enraged, Demigra transforms into a terrible monster, and the final decisive battle for the history of the world begins.

As Kinoa fights Demigra, Goku arrives in Super Saiyajin 3 form. Together, they are able to defeat Demigra. Aghast at having lost, he uses all his remaining power for one last suicide charge to kill his hated enemies. Goku and Kinoa join their power and perform a Double Full Power Super Kamehameha, which completely eradicates a horrified, disbelieving Demigra, whose last words are:

"I-impossible! I'm...I'm a god...!"

Tokitoki is freed with the death of Demigra, and the Time Crack begins to fall apart. The heroes quickly return to the Time Vault and share a happy, peaceful, relieved reunion with Toki no Kaioushin and Trunks. Trunks asks Kinoa to stay on the Time Patrol as his partner, to which she happily agrees. Goku asks Kinoa to fight him, but before they can get down to it, Toki no Kaioushin stops them, pointing out that they'll destroy the Time Vault if they fight now, and everything they just went through will be for nothing. Goku apologizes for being an idiot, and everybody laughs.

History is saved. The disruptions in time have stopped. Kinoa is a hero. But what about Towa? Is this peace truly a lasting one?

Find out next time, on Moth Plays Dragonball Xenoverse...2!

See ya next fight!

With this episode, I have completed the main story of Dragonball Xenoverse.

There are still a lot of Parallel Quests to deal with and an entire unlockable saga (the Broli saga) to tackle, but honestly? At this point, I think I'd rather come back and do all that later...after I play through Xenoverse 2. I'm ready, at this point, to move on to the next game and my next Time Patroller character. But not to worry! When I go back to the stuff I haven't done yet in this game, I'll definitely record and share it!

(I only wish I could've recorded the actual story mode fight(s) with Beerus. I fought him barefoot in a schoolgirl outfit. For some reason, this greatly amuses me.)

Interestingly enough, if you finish the fight before Goku appears, the ending skill in both games is different

...MAJIN SPARKLE?

Majin Sparkle. But she didn't come out as well as I hoped. :(

You can actually finish the fight without Goku appearing and the ending is different.

Admittedly its not much of a change, but it is nice to see all the mentor characters giving you words of encouragement/power to blast Demigra away.

It is. And you do it alone without Goku's help. That said, managing to do the same with Xenoverse 2's ending is a LOT more difficult. Hm, wonder if I can pull it off with a Golden Frieza Race Super Death Beam spam?
