Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

One time through wasn't enough... · 11:16am Feb 23rd, 2018

As Brady began to make his way through Ori and the Blind Forest, I quickly realized that instead of moving onto my next backlog title, I hadn't had enough yet. So I started over on Hard.

Another 100% run, this time on Hard. Brady has also completed his Normal run at 93% and is intent on going back and getting the last 7%.

Needless to say, we're both clamoring for the sequel, which is due out this year.

Anyways, I made a series of gameplay montages showcasing the story, the music, and the best of the platforming action.

Between the two of us, we've played 41 hours.

At the Summer Sale price of $9.99 that I got it for, that's $0.24 per hour.

I'm noticing a pattern lately; I've gotten more value from $10, $20, and $30 games than I have $60 ones.

Because low budget game studios have to innovate and make things memorable to get an audinece.

Full price games are usually a thing of big "AAA" studios who can spend a large sum on the game, but the investors are the ones running the show and they want safe and secure profit(and large ammounts of it with microtrasnactions and day one dlc). They dont need to innovate when they can just have a large chunk of their their budget be marketing. Or 75% like in Activision games case.

Interestingly enough i remember the "gaming" press being quiet negative about Ori and the blind forest when it came out. The games themselves sure love it though it seems.

I knew nothing about Ori when I picked it up. Only thing I saw was the 95% user rating on Steam.

Hey Miles, I've got Ori: Will of the Wisps in a list from E3 last year (I think). Is this a sequel to that one or a prequel?

Sorry, I didn't word that correctly—When I said 'this' I meant Blind Forest. My bad. I looked it up and it says WotW is the sequel. Shoulda just done that the first time. :facehoof:

Based on how you're raving about BF and how badly you want WotW, I'm assuming you highly recommend BF? :trixieshiftright:
