I got to watch it (Forgotten Friendship) and i loved it alot. One of my favorite parts was definitely Sunset and Celestia's reunion.
Looking at Derpibooru, some people have apparently latched onto the idea that Wallflower strips and streaks in the middle of the school hall in a frustrated effort to be noticed, then erases memories in embarrassment.

I don't understand it. If they can write stories this good, why was The Movie such a disappointment?

Because it was made for cinema, so they weren't able to use already estabilished elements, like Starlight, Trixie, other countries, reformed changelings, other cities and so on and had to rely on original content to tell an epic story. It ain't easy, but they did alright all things considered.
