Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

Gaming Backlog Update · 2:11pm Feb 18th, 2018

Grand Theft Auto V
Witcher 3 on Death March difficulty
Borderlands 2
Wolfenstein: The New Order (DNF)
Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori, like much of my backlog, was purchased for dirt cheap during a Steam sale and not given a second thought afterwards.

And I'm kicking myself for it. It's proving to be a phenomenal experience so far. The simple-to-learn, difficult-to-master platforming is superbly balanced with a manual checkpoint system.

And the music is simply ethereal.

You didn't finish the New Order?

No.

Firefights were getting frustrating. No way to tell how close you are to killing an armored guy when you've emptied three clips into him.

Also, apparently there are pick ups hidden that increase health or armor, depending on a choice early in the game. I was 75% of the way through, and hadn't found a single one.

I love the Ori game. I almost kicked my Tv when I first played it. It was so frustraingly difficult. But after playing it again and again, I realized what an incredible experience it is. The music, graphics, and gamleyplay take me to another world. About the only real criticism is the combat -- too simple. But a great game.

I can't wait for Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

It was a beautiful game that was by no means easy, i have yet to finish it. Even though it is one of my fav's right next to skyrim.
