Why Sunset Shimmer doesn't come back to Equestria? · 4:56pm Feb 16th, 2018
So, this is my first post here and I wanna share something with you dear reader.
Why Sunset Shimmer simply does not goes back to Equestria? Well, I have a theory (or a headcanon, whatever). Sunset comes to Canterlot High a couple of years ago (maybe three or more, seriously Hasbro, thank you for not providing us with any background for her ¬¬ ") and at first was is like a prison for her, or an exile, but since she started to be a friend of the girls, I think she chooses to stay there, but why? Why she doesn't back to her world, staying in an alternate version of this? Well, IMO she felt like that world is now her home, is where her friends live, I think she sees the girls like her family, so she doesn't wanna leave them.
I mean, what is in Equestria for her? There's a family waiting for her return? any parents or sisters or brothers? There's more than just guilt for all her past mistakes? Maybe she senses that the world (where Equestria is located) isn't her home anymore. In earth (for now I'll call this way the world of Canterlot High) she has friends, a job, a house, in other words, all she needs to live and in Equestria the only ponies she knows and cares about is princesses Twilight and Celestia, we never hear she talks about a family or something else, so I presume she's alone in the world. I think she prefers to stay in a world where knows she's loved instead of moving back to Equestria and leave all the life she built here, all her friends, and Sci-Twi (seriously Hasbro, if you don't will make Twi-set canon, stop teasing us with all these almost romantic situations between they - Friendship games, LoE, the shorts, forgotten friendship). Personally, I think she should stay in Canterlot city, at least for a while, until she decides if she wanna go to her old home or live her life in her new world, and once in 2020 we probably will see the end of MLP G4, maybe she prefers to stay in a world who will still exist.
