Short story idea: Rarity and G3 Rainbow Dash try to make G4 Rainbow Dash a dress · 6:25pm Feb 14th, 2018
Here's another story idea (this is more of a short story idea) that popped into my head at random. I think it could be a funny story... anyway.
In the story G3 Rainbow Dash teams up with Rarity to make G4 Rainbow Dash a dress... But, they can't seem to agree on what to make (G3 Rainbow Dash's designs seem to focus on "less is more" whereas Rarity's designs tend to be flashy). The whole time, poor G4 Rainbow Dash is growing more and more impatient as she's forced to stand and wait around while the 2 fashionists can't agree on what to make.
Okay. The key of any decent story is conflict.

To be honest, this is just an idea. It isn't something I will probably write... I don't think I could write a good comedy.

Is it revolved with typical compromise? Or do they make two dresses? Or does a third party decide wait traits work best together?

That is a good question.
Some twisted part of me imagines a dress war in which each side makes a series of designs that are how "things should be done" -- each more, and more on one extreme or the other -- and then a third party ends up ending the war by pointing out that there is a happy compromise between the two.

It also fits the mood of both series (not that FIM cannot be edgy or dark, but I think this is more the general mood of the series.)
