    I'M ALIVE!!!

Hello everyone, i have decided to come back to fimfiction after a really long hiatus. The reason is while I was working on "To the Moon and Back" I had a lot of other stories, and ideas that I wanted to do and I didn't wanted to continue on something Half-hearted. If I am going to do something, I want to put full effort into it. I hope you all understand. Anyways, it is good to be

    I NEED HELP!!!

I'm writing a story about a young man who undergoes a transgender transformation into Princess Luna's season 1self. There just one thing... I really need some assistance with this story. I NEED HELP!!! · 9:57pm Jan 29th, 2018

I'm writing a story about a young man who undergoes a transgender transformation into Princess Luna's season 1self. There just one thing... I really need some assistance with this story. I have very little knowledge about the process of someone undergoing a transformation (and I've done a lot of research, and I still don't really understand it) If you or someone you know has knowledge of this topic in particular, please tell me. I will greatly appreciate the help:twilightsmile:

NOTE: This DOES NOT mean that I'm anti-lgbt!! It just means I don't fully understand about the topic of being transgender. I all for lgbt people and topics and despise homophobia!!

Hmm...... let's go the Private Message route :)

I feel like I am missing something here. Is the person transgender? A sex change doesn't actually make someone transgender. Well..actually it would could make them transgender after as the new form would be at extreme odds with their mind if they identified with their assigned gender of birth. So are we talking about someone who identifies as female but had a male body being put into a female body or are we talking about someone who identifies as male being forcibly put into a female body?

I can try to help

You should have posted it here 2
Transgender Bronies

In general, from transforming from a human into a pony, the most important things would be shift of balance/center of gravity, and having to learn to walk on all four limbs. Humans stand comfortably on two and know how to walk left-right-left-right with their legs. Ponies basically have to walk front-left, back-right, front-right, back-left.

For transgender specifically, imagine that all your life you have had a certain kind of hormones going through your body. Testosterone, etc. Now imagine that that gets flipped. Now instead of the aggressive and confident energy you got from those male hormones, you now have more maternal, caring, and bonding feminine hormones inside you. This is a large part of the reason females are generally seen as more caring and thoughtful -- because it is biologically motivated. Still, that doesn't mean that men can't be just as caring, or that women can't be aggressive and take-charge. There are plenty of positive examples for both of those.

The real confusion is going to come when this character who just turned into a female gets hit with these new, feminine hormones, replacing his familiar masculine ones, because he will have no idea how to react. One can get used to their body after enough time living in it, to know all its quirks and be familiar with it. A male switching with a male is not nearly as confusing as a male switching with a female, because the biological dynamic is much different. In other words, this young man who becomes Luna, will now need to cope with very confusing feelings and urges all through his new body, feelings that he has no experience with because not just the body but the gender is not at all what he is used to.

As a transwoman, I feel like I first have to ask the same question that has been asked by others: does the main character want to be a female? On top of that, does he want to lose who he was and become Luna specifically? Does he instead resent the change and only gradually accept that he can be happy in his new role?

Whether he wanted to be female or he is determined to preserve his masculinity as long as he can, I can tell you just what the most important detail will be in terms of his mood and ongoing happiness: the way others perceive him. If he wishes he was still a male, being called "she" and "Princess" will sting a lot more than "your Majesty" or "Luna". If he's desired the change, then he's going to be ecstatic when those around him/her recognize her as a female.

Of course, that's all moot if he just doesn't care

It also would change how the transformation feels when it occurs. Of course it would be shocking at first—if it's unexpected, that is—but that could swiftly change to horror or blissful excitement depending on his reaction to the changes. One way reads as a chapter about loss; the other, about gain.

One more detail (more about the writing than the story): if you're writing to please the TF circle here on Fimfiction, they'd be grateful if you gave the transformation sequence itself the time and detail to make it feel worthwhile. They prefer to see the growth of horn and wings, and the changes from hands to hooves and hair to mane—maybe even a detail or two about the shift male to female if you're not writing an E-rated tale—over a simple *pop!* he's a Moonicorn!

I'm no stranger to either gender transformations or gender issues and I'm shy about neither, so let me know if there's anything more specific I can help you with.

4785558 You're very welcome~!

Here is a good story right here on FiMFiction you should read for a reference.

https://www.fimfiction.net/story/250542/straight-to-belle

It deals with a guy who winds up in Equestria, in the body of Rarity's sister, Sweetie Belle. "She" now has to go through physical therapy (to "re-learn" motor functions with her new equine body), and deal with confusing new feelings and rawer emotions from being a young female unicorn. It goes into some very exhaustive detail on how it all works, and especially with the feelings of the guy in a filly's body.

Oh, by the way, Sweetie Belle isn't entirely 'gone' from her body. So there's that, too. :pinkiecrazy:

Now instead of the aggressive and confident energy you got from those male hormones, you now have more maternal, caring, and bonding feminine hormones inside you.

I should've told you this earlier, but I am a girl (and always have been):twilightblush:

Well, there's no right way to do it. Transformation's fictional, so it's anyone's guess what it would be like. If you want her to lose her aggression and start becoming a caring, nurturing mommy, you're welcome to do that, just as much as the author who has her not feeling all maternal, and plays up the conflict as she expects to be girlified, only to find out that her assumptions about what a girl is are wrong.

Be careful though, because your transformation will be a metaphor for the real differences between real girls and real guys, so it might make you look sexist if you make her really super girly, just because she's a girl. Readers would be like, "But wait, I know a girl who isn't like that! So why's Luna 2.0 forced to act that way?" Not to say you should always play it safe and never offend any readers, but be aware that you'll be under a bit more scrutiny since you're gonna have to imply things along the lines of "Girls are like this."

So, be aware of the message your readers are gonna get if Luna 2.0 immediately falls in love and gets married to be a devoted housewife for some stallion, but also be aware that there's no law saying transformation wouldn't happen that way. It's really up to you, how much you want gender in your story to be tied to the biological sex someone has become, because every way is equally valid.
