Broken Phalanx's Dialectic · 9:09pm Jan 28th, 2018
This. This is what I strove to achieve when I first started writing. Not build a fanbase in the thousands, or earn millions, but captivate one completely. To write something that inspires a person so thoroughly that they simply must shape and release the ideas swirling within their head to the world, as Friendship is Magic has done for many of us. To pay the creativity forward, so that the art of the story may continue to flourish in perpetuity.
Dialectic deserves to be read, not because of any of this, but because it is a good story, perhaps even exceeding the quality of those that preceded it. I’d say more, but, well, the Death of the Author is a thing, and I don’t want to risk stamping out any changes made solely because they exist. (I had zero input on Dialectic beyond approving its creation.) Please just do me a solid and go read it, it’s worth your time, I promise.
PS: Ok, if you want to be technical, this was the first time somebody wrote a sequel to my work, but in that case there was an extra layer of fanfic on top that kinda lessened the impact it had on me.
