As promised, here's the making of of my second book, 'Worlds Apart.' RIght here you can get an inside view into my head as a writer. It's fun to see how different the story turned out, as you can see here. Have fun reading!

Plot outline:

-Triggerhoof explains situation a little bit (scolding and swearing)

-He gets attacked by junkie

-Triggerhoof asks him where the drugs are. The junkie tells him, then Trig shoots him

-Triggerhoof discovers the bunker underneath the hospital. He discovers a pony there, among other doctors, who are being imprisoned and forced to make drugs.

-Triggerhoof murders all the raiders and sets the doctors and the pony free

-Triggerhoof flies back home, all the while comparing his world to Equestria

-Back in the bunker (he describes it as he goes through it), he talks to doctor Goodman, tells him about his encounters, and delivers the medicines. Doctor Goodman is very disturbed by Trigg’s tale, and worries for his sanity.

-The general calls Trigg to go with the rest of the heat seekers for a mission. They have to venture far into ground zero to search for radio parts

-The heat seekers go on the mission, and get attacked by changelings (mutants) , who wipe the squad out. Only Andrei survives (heavily wounded) and Amanda (who runs).

-Celestia receives word that there’s a dragon in Starlight’s village

-Fluttershy says goodbye to everypony else and goes there with Rarity.

-They discover it is a Wyvern, not a dragon. Fluttershy can’t talk to it and gets killed

-Discord goes to Fluttershy’s grave, and Twilight (or Rarity!) talks to him. She explains it was a wyvern, and Discord blames Celestia because he read the letter. Discord seems bitter. He never knew friendship can hurt so bad.

-Discord goes to Chrysalis. Chrysalis shows him her army of super changelings and grants him an army of super changelings (changelings who can wield magic, are resistant to poison and radiation, and can only be destroyed by magic). Discord becomes a love junkie, because he wants to feel the love and friendship again. Chrysalis can give him both.

-A little scene about Trick’s life before he came to Earth

-Discord and Chrysalis attack Canterlot. The city is scarred by the enormous magical battle. Celestia casts her banishing spell, which Discord deflects with his magic mirror. The spell breaks into dozens and dozens of tinier rays, which send different ponies to Earth, and then manifests into a cloud, hovering over all of Equestria. Rainbow Dash gets send to Earth as well.

(Chrysalis already knew of the magical teleportation chamber when she was Princess Cadence. After the battle with Celestia & Luna, Chrysalis sends agents of hers to search for ponies and Rainbow Dash. The changelings are ordered to capture or destroy them). She does that for one year. She couldn’t do it herself, because she had to fight more battles.

-Celestia and Luna, weary from battle, sees how much destruction and death their fight creates, and surrender. Celestia whispers to Luna that they need cunning to win this, not brute force. Chrysalis keeps the entire population of Canterlot hostage.

-Twilight and her friends do their very best to form a resistance and combat the cloud of dislocation.

-Hidden somewhere, Twilight receives a telepathic message of Celestia and Luna through Luna’s dream walking. They explain what happened and that the ponies have been sent to earth. She also tells them that the elements reincarnate, and that Twilight must find the new element of kindness. They also say they must find a magical portal maker hidden in Canterlot. Celestia implants the location of Triggerhoof (he’s the only pony she can feel who is closest to a rift in time and above ground) into Twilight’s mind. The only thing she has to do is enter Canterlot castle and activate the pedestal of translocation.

-They leave Starlight and Spike behind to form a resistance.

-They reach the chamber using stealth, but when Twilight activates it, Chrysalis notices them. She reveals that she has already used the pedestal to send changeling scouts in there. But now that the mane six go in there, she decides to go in herself.After appointing a general to the changeling army, she hops in, but isn’t able to teleport to the same location as the mane six (She settles in the crater).
-Twilight and her friends reach the destination of the battle, and help to defeat the Changelings by using magic (they can only be defeated by using magic). They grab Triggerhoof and go someplace safe.

-They talk to him. Trigg refuses to help them, cannot help them. Hethinks everyone and everything is dead thanks to the princesses. He thinks there is nothing left to fight for. He wants nothing to do with ponies. He sneaks out.

-Mane 4 agree to not go the way the changelings came, but go northeast—straight into Russian hands.

-Trigg goes to Crossroads, and discovers that it is empty. He finds two audio tapes; one from Dr. Goodman, and one from General Johansson, who tell that the American military had found them. He takes some supplies (GPS)

(-Andrei goes to the Russians)

-Amanda goes to Crossroads, reads some messages on the wall. She wants to go to the U.S. base too, but has to go through the Russian compound first.

-Through her scope, she sees Andrei, and gets an opportunity to talk to him during one of his squad missions

-Andrei smuggles in Amanda. Amanda wants to save RD but she gets executed anyway (they think she is an American spy because of her accent.

-Then the main 4 go as prisoners to the Russian compound. Amanda tells them RD is dead and tries to sneak them out

-Amanda manages to sneak the mane 4 out. They agree to travel to the hotel (Andrei finds the location and existence of the hotel out, and tells it to Amanda)

-Trigg goes to military base alone. He tries to alert the president to the changeling attack, but he doesn’t believe it.

-Trigg is put to work, and has to investigate the forest with random soldiers.

-All of the soldiers are killed. Triggerhoof is knocked unconscious,
-Together, the mane 4 and Amanda end up in the hotel. They meet Filthy Rich and Spoiled Rich after they got arrested for stealing.

-They overhear a distress call from the estates. Raiders are going to demolish that place. They recognize the voice of Mayor Mare (element of kindness).

-During the raid, they spot PON3 (the raiders worship PON3 and Octavia like gods)

-They sneak into the raider hideout, and witness a wild house party, they spot PON3 and Octavia, and they somehow get them out.

-Trigg wakes up in the hut of Zecora

-Long conversation. Zecora says it is important to help the ponies. She saw them when they teleported (powerful magic she could monitor) Also, zecora shows Trigg the Red main base and the main base of Chrysalis. (She can see places that are radioactive. The Reds have built their base upon a missile silo. (Trigg puts the location in his GPS))

(Little bit of Downtime)

-When Trigg returns to US compound, there is a changeling attack. He manages to flee with Goodman and Johansson.

-They try to flee to the hotel but have to take shelter when a radioactive rain pours down.

-They encounter some people in the metro. They learn of the location of the museum of technology.

(-Trigg finds his parents)

-They go there, find a cult and doctor whooves

-They get their hands on the nukes. They also encounter a high-powered radio. Trigg wants to bomb the Russians too. He has to fight doctor Goodman. In the end, Johansson and Trigg tie Goodman up.

-While they are putting in the launch codes, they turn on the radio. They overhear that the radio speaks of ponies in plaza city.

-They launch the nukes, both on the Red compound as on Chrysalis’s palace. Triggerhoof goes to the hotel.

-Chrysalis receives reports of the attack on the U.S. compound. Chrysalis says that she cannot communicate with her officer. It doesn’t matter. She says that her next target will be the hotel.

-Trigg arrives at the hotel, and meets the mane 4 and Amanda. They hope that Trigg is the element of loyalty

-The main four, and especially Triggerhoof, sell the estates to Filthy Rich, in exchange for an army.

-The hotel is attacked by changelings. The war begins now. The main 4 hope that Trigg is the element of loyalty. It would explain why they were teleported to him (to a source of magic), and why he traveled all the way to find his friends.

Trigg reveals to the mane 4 and Amanda that the final element is at the other side of the crater.

Triggerhoof gets the element (nurse Redheart) and brings her to the crater through the metro tunnels at the other side

-As the war goes on in the crater, the mane 4 and the elements go directly to Chrysalis’s home base using the metro tunnels

-They have a fight. Chrysalis is having a hard time. Amanda loses her gun. Chrysalis flees to Equestria through the rift, which she herself has discovered.

--They try using the elements of harmony. they fail

--Amanda tries to shoot her, while Twilight is having an aerial battle. Chrys gets hit. The others try to revive Raspberry

--Chrys attacks Amanda. She changes into her

--Trick wakes up. He sees Amanda isn’t real. He warns them, and takes the hit for Twilight

--Twilight blasts Chrys

--Chrys uses magic on the rift. They get teleported into Equestria (Amanda too (unconscious)

--the changelings surround them all

--Twilight holds the dying Trick in her hooves. She realizes he is the element of loyalty

--They use the elements to defeat Chrysalis

-The mane 4 go after them.

-In Equestria, there is an attack going on, led by Starlight’s and Spikes resistance army

-Chrysalis transforms into Amanda and shoots Twilight.

-Starlight Glimmer takes Twilight’s place as the element of Magic. They defeat Chrysalis.

-Trigg has to make a choice. The portal can be used five times. Chrysalis had used it 1 time (to send changelings to the new realm). When the mane 4 use it that makes two. Then Chrysalis uses it, that makes three. The big confrontation and the return journey makes four. Does Trigg choose to live in Equestria, or with his parents on Ground Zero. He chooses Zero

Alternative: The main four track Triggerhoof down. They team up to find their lost friends. Triggerhoof and the mane four go to the American base. They meet the president, who doesn’t believe it when they say that all of Ground Zero is in danger. Amanda and Andrei meet the mane 4?

They both want to get the Heat Seekers out

Alternative: Andrei and Amanda take the Winter and go to a Russian compound (they have to get to the American base). Rainbow Dash is there, and is going to get executed. RD dies. Andrei stays behind, while Amanda sneaks out. But she gets captured, and is taken to the capital compound

Alternative: In the capital of the Communists, she meets the mane 4

(Things to keep in mind: Amanda can help, because she knows ponies. Andrei can help, because he knows communists)

Locations

New hope church

Somehow it is spared from the atomic holocaust. The people inside of it regard this as a miracle. There is a highly religious cult inside.

Oil rig

An oil rig was not hit by the missiles. There are people who got fuel, but they are not willing to give it to anyone. They want to keep it for themselves.

The hotel (plaza city; the underground mall)

A place which was spared because the inhabitants were rich enough to have a defense system. Around it is a big city where people try to come and trade. They can’t trade in the wasteland: too dangerous.

The metro

People of all sorts and kinds live here. They managed to get animals inside, and breed them and sell the goods to traveling merchants.

Aurora city

Now nothing more than a crater, Aurora city once sprouted a beautiful and grand harbor. It was the primary target of the Russians. They needed just one bomb to level the whole city.

Democracity

The U.S. military’s home base. It is a structure made of prefab lead plates, and is built after the war. People are taken there to assist in the war effort. But there is a chronic shortage of everything, because there are so many people. People are trained as soldiers, and are sent to the frontline to fight against the reds. They cannot grow crops because the soil is poisoned. In fact, the whole area is terrible to live in, yet they had built their base there because it was the most strategic point. The core of Democracity is an enormous nuclear powerplant, which provides power to everyone.

Yaroslavsk

The main city of the Russians. They are doing much better, as they do have many farm grounds to cultivate. They are situated in a military facility with its own bunker. There is communism. They use slaves to grow the crops.

Characters

Triggerhoof:

Purpose: He is the element of loyalty, and protects those that he feels alleged to, but no one else. He doesn’t care about anyone else.

Strengths: shooting, quick to act, to find out danger, experienced soldier

Flaws: he doesn’t trust anyone. He doesn’t care for life, he’s angry and brutal. He has no mercy

Personality traits: He’s not nice company. He is gruff and unfriendly, and curses a lot. He doesn’t give compliments, and is very obsessed with guns. Also, he smokes and drinks a lot. And he philosophizes about the world in a gloomy, aggressive way, but at the same time he doesn’t like to think too much and constantly scolds himself for thinking too much. When there’s danger, he jumps right in. He thinks that the world has corrupted him, but that Equestria isn’t much better. He has no positive thoughts about Equestria, and doesn’t remember much about it. He is traumatized. He buries his lost childhood and his lost world underneath a hard, spiky shell.

Appearance: He’s dark red, the color of blood. He has a cutie mark. He keeps black mane and tail short, a crew cut. He has many scars all over his body. Bullet wounds, knife slashes; all things he got after numerous combat situation during supply runs. He has stubble on his chin, and he shaves. He got his nickname ‘Triggerhoof’ from the rest of his squad. Doctor Goodman’s name for him was Glow Star. He has deep green eyes. He got a cutie mark of a black crosshair.

Ideals and beliefs: ‘The world can handle one more monster.’ He is utterly loyal to doctor Goodman and the rest of crossroads hospital. He believes it takes brutality to survive, and that everypony is evil inside. It’s just waiting to come out. He can’t deal with ‘grey.’ There is only black and white for him.

History or backstory: He was a grown stallion when he got teleported out of Equestria by Celestia’s rebounding banishing spell. He saw how his world was torn apart by magic, how ponies died in front of his eyes. He saw how his parents got captured by the beam as well, as they tried to protect him. Triggerhoof doesn’t know whether his parents are dead, or if they got teleported somewhere on earth. Doctor Goodman found him inside a crater filled with radiation on one of his supply runs, brought him home, and raised him himself. Triggerhoof quickly started burying his sorrows with a nasty and aggressive attitude, but the only thing he did love and was inspired by was the loyalty of the squad of military men who went out on ground zero to find supplies. He saw in them something he used to do in his own world: using deadly weapons. He kind of clings on to that little thing, which was his passion in Equestria. He became fascinated by guns, and he trained and trained, until—much to Doctor Goodman’s dissatisfaction—he joined the search squad.

Bonds: He has an unwavering loyalty to Doctor Goodman first, the search squad second, and all the other folks in the crossroads bunker third.

Raspberry Trick

Purpose: He is what Triggerhoof once was; a normal pony in Canterlot living a normal life.

Strengths: Shooting, quick to act, direct

Flaws: too direct, only cares for his shooting club, has no eye for others’ emotions

Personality traits: He’s nice company, if you can deal with him. He says what he thinks, doesn’t really take the world seriously, and is often sarcastic. He likes to make jokes about others and is a real talk-al-lot. But those jokes are more often than not laden with sarcasm and harsh. He’s obsessed with the Canterlot Archery Club and all kinds of bows. He sometimes has a dark mind. He is utterly loyal to his club, and helps out wherever he can. But he neglects the relationship with his parents.

Appearance: He’s still red, the color of blood. He has a black mane and tail, which he keeps slightly longer than Triggerhoof. He has black bangs, which occasionally falls before his eyes. Of course, he doesn’t have any scars, but stubble still covers his muzzle. He still has deep green eyes.

Ideals and beliefs: Don’t take life too seriously, mess around, have fun, everybody is weird inside

History or backstory: He is the only son of two parents who work very hard. His father, a rough construction boss, constantly teases him and things he should be tough. His mother is a nurse and very sweet, maybe even meek and timid. They both love Raspberry Trick very much, and would like him to spend more time with them, as it is a rare occasion when they both don’t have to work.

Bonds: He loves the city of Canterlot, because there always something to do there. He has an unwavering loyalty to the Canterlot Archery Club, and he would go through the fire and the flames for them. He practically runs the archery club. It’s first in, last out for Raspberry Trick. He is a bit in love with Nockle Stringer, who is impressed by his efforts.

Doctor John Goodman

Purpose: He helps to keep Triggerhoof in check, to expose his softer side and keep him mentally stable. He also wants to find out why he got summoned to earth.

Strengths: caring, loving, concerned about everybody, friendly

Flaws: Naïve, weak, too prodding, blind for the horrors of ground zero, soft

Personality traits: He has seen My Little Pony and is a great fan. His favorite character is Fluttershy. Everybody can call him his or her friend. He is very religious, and believes that everything happens to a reason. He is sure that the final judgement will soon come, given the state of the earth. He tries to hide from the horrors of ground zero by keeping himself busy with his work or his art (he tries to create some beauty in a forgone world).

Ideals and beliefs: He believes in God. He believes that everyone should get medical treatment, no matter what he or she has done. He believes in the goodness of mankind, that everyone is good inside.

Backstory: During the first few years he had often been on ground zero to forage for medical supplies, until the military soldiers came (they were soldiers who didn’t believe that there was a nation left fighting for). During the first few years, many refugees came to Crossroads Hospital, whom the Doctor always tried to help. He found Triggerhoof in a radiation pit and brought him home. He thinks of him as his own child. He wishes that Triggerhoof would be more like the ponies of the television show. He is always concerned about everybody, and would rather like that no one would ever go to ground zero again. He has a wife, Doctor Mary Goodman, and counts himself lucky that she has survived. He loves her much, and she is his support and part of his reason to live, next to helping others.

General Erik Johansson

Purpose: To add background information to his soldiers

Strengths: Strong, fighter, more deeds than words, noble leader

Flaws: One-sided view. Too obsessed with American ideals

Personality traits: He is a true American, obsessed with freedom, democracy, and equality. He hates communists, and wants to see every one of them destroyed. He wants to go to the government outpost, to be part of an army again; to stand for something again. He really wants to get out of the bunker and make a difference, but the sick and injured and children prevent him from doing that. He values military equipment over many things. He is frustrated because the radio is broken. He knows for sure that. He is obsessed with knowing just what exactly happened during the war, and what’s going on outside. He compares the apocalypse with Ragnarok.

Ideals and beliefs: Freedom, democracy, rebuilding the wasteland with a new government

History or backstory: He and his soldiers were stationed at a missile silo. After the missiles were launched, there wasn’t anything left for them to do, so they set out to find other soldiers and government. Instead, they met men on ground zero who were scavenging, and saw how amateurish they were. They offered to help, and have stayed inside the crossroads hospital bunker ever since.

Bonds: He feels bound to the country, and he still wants to protect and serve it. He has only loose bonds with crossroads bunker, although he does want to help them.

-The heat Seekers consists of:

--Triggerhoof

--Amanda (sniper), shy, caring, knows Triggerhoof, always knows what to say

--Brockheart (demolitions expert), talkative, enthusiastic, cheerful

--Andrei (scout), former Russian soldier, class clown, bully

--Simon (survival expert), old, experienced, gentleman, knows rumors. Has seen a lot of good and bad things.

-Their creed is: “Be quick! Be ruthless! Be brave!”

-President Yaroslav of Russia and Winter from America

Chrysalis

Purpose: She’s the antagonist

Strengths: magic, siphon love, ruthless, driven, can fly and walk on walls. Can spit venom and sticky goo, can shapeshift

Flaws: Arrogant. Too ambitious. Underestimates the power of friendship and love

Personality traits: She speaks very properly. She is always vicious, always filled with hate. She wants revenge more than everything, especially on Starlight Glimmer and Thorax. She mocks the magic of friendship and love, although she is a little more careful now, as she has witnessed first hoof what the magic of friendship and love can do. She isn’t hot-headed. She keeps her head cool and devises a plan before taking action. She is a strategist.

Appearance: a black, pitted skin. Blue, ragged hair, sharp teeth, tongue, insect-ish wings

Ideals and beliefs: I have time, time to plan my revenge.

History or backstory: She has tried to invade Equestria twice. First was the replacement of Princess Cadence and the attack of her changeling army on Canterlot. The second time she built a massive hive and used her changeling agents to replace key ponies in Ponyville. She also abducted the real princesses and the main 6

Bonds: If anything, she loves her children. She believes she cares for them, letting them feed of the love of others. She has a massive changeling hive which change shape and size all the time. New entrances and exits appear, then disappear Magic cannot be used in her fortress.

Ponies that have been sent to earth:

-kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, honesty, magic

--Doctor Whooves (mad professor in a technological building)

--Filthy Rich and Spoilt rich (trade master in the hotel)

--Nurse Redheart (who Trigg encounters in the junkie hideout) they think she is the element of kindness

--Octavia (who is forced to perform in the hotel)

--Shining Armor (U.S military) they think he is the element of loyalty

--Mayor Mare (advisor to the president) (element of generosity)

--Double Diamond (maybe element of honesty) (Captured by the reds)
