Equestria Girls Choose-Your-Own-Ending Shorts - My Thoughts

So, I've watched the newest batch of Equestria Girls digital mini-episodes. They were pretty fun! And I thought I might share some of my thoughts on them.

This is less of a "review" and more a set of thoughts I had when watching the shorts, or stuff I thought about them.

Best Trends Forever:

- Flash's new look is... all right. I like the jacket okay, but I actually kind of miss his spiky hairdo.
- I wonder just how many other confetti bombs Pinkie hid around the school? We only saw the girls clean the hallway, and then there was Celestia's office... I have the feeling that there'll be confetti explosions for weeks ahead.
- This is the first time in the Equestria Girls universe that we've seen Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon talk! (And it's been a long time for their pony counterparts as well...)
- Twilight and Rarity's friendship moment at lunch was adorable.
- Bulk Biceps with long rainbow hair is glorious.
- Zephyr Breeze with rainbow hair is less so.
- Rarity going all Twilight Zone narration was hysterical.

Fluttershy's Butterflies:

- Comedy-wise, my favorite ending is the Rainbow Dash one.
- Otherwise, my favorite ending is the Applejack one. I actually kind of ship Fluttershy and AJ now because of that XD

Text Support:

- Sunset just calling Timber to ask what the text meant was great. But Twilight's freakout (especially "Who TALKS on the phone?!") was priceless.
- Fluttershy's comment about cute animal pictures was great too.
- Although, this one was probably my least favorite. Not because I dislike it or anything, it just didn't have any moments that hooked me like some of these others.

Stressed in Show:

- Twilight freaking out at the start was funny. Especially her "break a leg" moment. XD
- ...Pinkie, that's NOT how you help someone deal with stress.
- Fluttershy's ending is probably my favorite. It just had so many great moments: Angel being cute, the "ANIMALS - UNITE!" moment, and then Twilight cuddling a pair of skunks

Driving Miss Shimmer:

- Cranky Doodle was a dick in the Applejack ending.
- But he made up for it in the Fluttershy ending, with the whole "I know that this safety business is probably boring to you... and it is..." Along with his piss-take of a rhyme XD
- And speaking of rhymes, Fluttershy's is just adorable!
- Rarity, you're supposed to help Sunset learn to drive, not take her to the prom. >_<

Rarity Investigates: The Case of the Bedazzled Boot:

- Applejack got some great expressions in the ending with Maud. I love her deadpan "so done with this shit" look when she catches an overdramatic Rarity.
- And Maud's faces were great too. Not just the "dramatic angle lit by thunder" shot, but also her face when she holds up the boot. XD
- Rarity drooling over that giant gemstone was kind of worrying. XD
- I love that Rarity has a different detective outfit in each ending.
- Pinkie's freakouts were great too. I also loved her line, "But I have so much more to confess!" As I can't help but imagine her hot-footing it over to the nearest confessional and irking the priest with a litany of ridiculous "sins"...
- Trixie and Rarity waged full-on Ham to Ham combat without saying a word to each other. That's a heck of a feat!
- Rarity and Spike were adorable at the end.

All the World's Off Stage:

- It's funny to see Snips and Snails being bossed around by Sunset again.
- Also, Snails has some sort of phobia of balloons? Did he watch IT as a child or something? XD I seriously thought of that when he's like "Balloons aren't scary..."
- "YOU WILL MAKE TIME FOR BALLOONS, SUNSET!!!" made me laugh.
- I also got a laugh out of Bulk Biceps in the ending with him and Micro Chips. "THIS LUMP OF COAL'S GONNA BE CUT LIKE A DIAMOND!!"
- Twilight's robotics project was the weakest ending for me, humor-wise.
- But again, it did make me smile to see her and Sunset there.

Constructive Criticism:

- Human Nurse Redheart!
- Rainbow Dash's ending is my favorite. It's funny and sweet with the whole inspiration board thing, and then just funny with the diary joke at the end.
- AJ, what made you think asking Photo Finish was a good idea?

Opening Night:

- I love that they cast Twilight and Flash as husband and wife in the play. XD Feels like the writers having a good joke with the fans.
- I straight-up guffawed to see Rainbow Dash as the "Fairy Bootmother".
- The whole "Dazzled" play is hilariously cringy. But I'm sorry Sunset, that monologue of yours was just painful. (Even though I am impressed by you creating a diamond spontaneously.)
- Twilight and Sunset's expressions during their ending are gold. Especially when Sunset just points to the damn geode XD
- Applejack as a talking tree. Just...

Happily Ever After Party:

- And again, Cranky Doodle as the kind-of antagonist of the short. I'm not complaining (because I found all three endings funny), but it could grow old in the future if this continues.
- Applejack's "stubborn off" is both funny and in-character. And the punchline with the flashlight was funny in a random way.
- Rainbow Dash's ending was funny mostly for the CMC and Cranky. Especially the math pun that Cranky made.
- Rarity's ending is my personal favorite. Especially for her going all courtroom drama on Cranky.
- Cranky Doodle dancing with a lampshade on... just how much fizzy cider did he have? XD

So yeah, that's my thoughts. These were all pretty fun, with only one real "dud" among the endings for me. But one cringeworthy monologue out of twenty-nine hilarious, heartwarming or satisfying endings is a pretty good tradeoff in my opinion.
