TL;DR: keeping the word count rising; schedule's getting weird again. Thank you all, deeply, for your support!
The long version:
So, the good news: my motivation is holding, if not at its highest. This means I'm trying to get story updates out, and I may go back to polish off the end to Forged Anew if time and patience permits. My focus right now is on working through Fists of the Evening Star until it reaches a satisfying conclusion. This may take a while, as I keep adding new threads to the tapestry of how I get to that sweet, sweet climactic finale. If I finish it to satisfaction, it may just be the kick I need to go back and finally make Wardens of Edgewood the masterpiece my story planning notes were hoping to make it.
The bad news: I'm still dealing with constant flux in expectations regarding when I'll have to go on trips for work, which has been the major stumbling block to getting a rhythm going for writing and posting. I was expecting to be attending a month long school this month, which put a lot of things on hold while I scrambled to assemble everything I needed for it, only to have it kicked back and pushed to March. This means I now have to figure out what I am doing with this month, as it is now definitely too late to register for the college courses I wanted to.
The in-between: I made the switch back to night shift starting today, which will be three months running. This means that I will be awake at strange hours for most people who know me, and it only makes my weird Panama work schedule weirder for anyone outside looking in. The silver lining of this wonky schedule is that it puts me in the office during the quiet hours when people aren't always peering over shoulders and getting nosy about what's going on, so between tasks and managing the shop I'll have time to write. Fists is especially geared toward this sort of short-spurt writing and I will be taking advantage of that.
The bottom line: you crazy freaks following me are the reason my motivation rises from the ashes. All is Not Yet Dust because you pones actually support what I do. And for that, I want to thank you. As a little special something, if you can PM me an accurate prediction of what my big End Game is for Fists, I will work in a character or scene of your choice into the story (pending a little artistic liberty to maintain the integrity of the story; looking at you, Donut Steel).
