It's been a long December and there's reason to believe...

Maybe this year will be better than the last.

I'd say more, but let's not tempt fate, she seems to be having a rough year too.

    Have you voted yet?

This isn't an endorsement, I have no facts and figures to offer you, no scandals to mention. I'll just say that this election may well be the most noteworthy in quite some time for the turnout, and early voting is still happening tomorrow. If you mailed yours in, check to make sure it was received. If it wasn't, there is still time to vote in person and cancel the mail in. No matter how you do

Signal Boost: Don't trust elephants around your drinks. · 8:03pm Dec 31st, 2017

I knew my decision to be a hermit was the right one.

In all seriousness, for those of you who have social lives, read this blog and for goodness sake take its advice. Don't let yourself or others end up having a bad time. 2017 sucked enough as it was.

Here's wishing you nothing but perfectly normal hangovers in the morning.

Read it last night, I've never been roofied myself, but I've been around, and gotten friends home who have... It's a terrifying experience, you feel sick for your friend, and you worry for yourself.

Cons are... A mixed bag as a woman, doubly so if you cosplay, something about it seems to make people think you're public property, and they're entitled to do whatever they want to you.

Beyond that, a lot of people don't want to kick up a fuss, so they just silently bear with it.

That being said, I've met two to three amazing, wonderful people at cons for every single entitled jerk.

Watch out for your friends, but ultimately, a person's safety is up to them. Sumble sounds like a lovely ritual that I would adore to be part of, but only with a very small group of people that I trusted completely. It's far, far too dangerous to do in a public setting like that. Regardless of your gender.

I'm saddened this happened at all, but I'm so grateful that these ladies had such wonderful people looking out for them.
