    Tell Your Tale: P + P = BFFs

This week, we've got a... Somewhat touching Posey episode?

Think this would benefit from a longer runtime. I also laughed harder than necessary at Izzy in the very beginning.

Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

This may be my last ageplayer story. · 7:04pm Dec 31st, 2017

While Glimmer of the Past is only my second ageplayer story on this site, it may end up being my last.

If there is one thing I haven't been able to bring myself to tolerate in this community, it's members who downvote stories for the simple fact that they contain fetishes that they don't agree with or like.

A Glimmer of the Past is currently my only story, out of 30, to have a rating below 70%, when the vast majority of my pony fiction is in the high 80's and 90's. Combined, all of my stories maintain an overall 90% rating.

I know most of you commenting have enjoyed it, but I do not want to continue to feed this immature behavior when there is very little in the way of dealing with it, and many readers look at the upvotes and downvotes before deciding to read a story.

I'm sure there's a better middle ground than that. This is not social media; I'll grant that a high number of downvotes are how we identify shitpost stories or just plain badly written self-inserts by some 14-year old.

Usually if Its not my cup of tea. I don't read it. Simple as that. Why downvote a story that you know is not meant for you when others like it.

My stance. If you want to write more of it despite backlash. Write on. So long as the story is good.

You can't give in to the haters by refusing to write anymore ageplay stories. These people will always unfortunately be out there, doing this sort of thing, but you can't give them the satisfaction of knowing they got to you.

I have only read a little of what you wrote, but what I read I enjoyed very much indeed. Like SuperPinkBrony just said, you can't give in to the haters, because then you're just doing exactly what they want. They want to know they upset you, got to you, all those things...and stopping writing only plays right into their hands.

I would say keep writing, keep doing what you are good at. Because from what I have read, you are very talented indeed.

As for Downvoting, I have always felt that downvotes (at least, possibly even upvotes) should be required to have a reason attached to them. Eg, you try to downvote and a text-box pops up, requiring you to specify why you are downvoting. Coupled with that, give the authors the power to dispute certain reasons and get the downvote removed if the reason is bad or unjustified.

Example: A downvote with a reason of "Bad writing" could get removed, it's not a justified reason or a proper critique. "Downvoted because the main character is a blatant self-insert OC and the story is alarmingly cliche" is, and would remain.

I never did like any of the up/down vote systems in place here. They've never really worked either.

Then there are the anti-whatever groups on the site, who'll mass downvote things just because of the content. It's kind of hilarious on one hand because a lot of them are just anti-everything. Being anti-foalcon is understandable, maybe even anti-conversion bureau is understandable as well. Then you got groups that are just anti-character or anti-clopfic, those people remind of the West Borough Baptist Chruch, just protesting to protest.
