But when I do it's probably for something stupid. Down to business as they say question is it just me or does it feel like the site is dying? back when I first made my account and some of the the earlier years I could reload the main page every 2 minutes and there be a handful of new stuff. nowadays it can go whole days with only a small group of updates not including the fact I feel a lot of authors have just vanished and a lot of good stories just stop updating it sucks really bad.Plus I'd love to be able to go finish reading a lot of the fics that never completed I'd even have ideas to finish some of them unfortunately I'm not a writer by a long shot I'm more of a concepts and planning kinda thing anyways enough rambling for me. peace
Well, it's been six years since you brought it up—I'm a little late seeing this—and you're just some guy who ostensibly likes my slog of a story, but I guess I feel passionate enough about this topic that I don't really mind acting dated. Sorry for necroposting, I guess?
I'm of the mind that the fandom—any fandom—lives and dies by its fanbase. Not so much the sum total of contribution put forth on constant reverence and activity, just... enjoyment. We may not see so many great works as there once were, and the threadhead count of our closely-weaved community may fray and dwindle, but so long as there are people like you and me—people who just continue to like the show and remember how it once was, I don't think it'll ever really die.
It'll only die if we stop caring. The works we loved and the memories we made won't go away, so long as we just look back on it all with fondness. Our history won't just go away.
