My Response to Y'all Responding to My Story · 5:32pm Dec 23rd, 2017
Hey everyone! I'm finally able to have some time to myself from my family to be able to write something to you guys.
First. Let me just say this. Wow. Just...I mean...WOW! 174 Likes and over 1600 of you guys and gals viewed my story as I'm writing this. My FIRST story? It's pretty hard for me to currently write just how grateful, appreciative and blessed that I feel from all of you by reading and commenting on my story. Seriously you all. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU ALL! From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. I was hoping for my story to just simply be noticed by some. Maybe have a few likes and only a couple of people comment. Instead, I see it become so popular that it ends up on the featured most popular list? It STILL boggles my mind! Again, thank you
I'm still gonna respond to y'alls comments but I want to try and address them as generally as I can here. First. Yeah wow. I think it's safe to say that I achieved what I wanted to in this story. The feels. I was overwhelmed by how many of you guys were touched by the story. I'm touched by that Thank you all so much
Let me also address why the quality of the writing and why it came out the way it did. Like I said in the authors note, I only had less than a week to write this whole thing. I took my last final last Wednesday (DEC 13th) and began writing as soon as I could. AS FAST AS I COULD. In fact, A LOT of what y'all read in the story was improvised and made up right on the spot. I already had the main ideas and points, but not the little things like the persona's of the coltfriends and much of the interaction between Twilight and Spike. So since I had to be done by Tuesday (DEC. 19th) morning because of me having to pack and be ready to head home by the day after, I had to finish quickly.
Why put such a deadline on myself? Why couldn't I wait AFTER Christmas break to finish? I did it for the sake of the story. The story takes place a few days before Hearths Warming so why not have it put out a few days before Christmas and the end of Hanukkah to get into the spirit of the holidays
But because I just finished writing the story the morning of when I was packing and having to worry about family; I've committed the biggest crime on editing that'll make all editors everywhere have nightmares for weeks. I only looked through my story for corrections...once. ONLY ONE TIME. And even then it was mostly to look for missing words I didn't put in because I type so fast. In other words, the short answer is TIME. I didn't have the time. I promise that any future story that I might have in the future will not be as poorly edited or written. I won't give myself such a bad deadline next time. I can only hope you all understand
Anyway, I can't thank you guys enough. Hopefully when I have more time to myself I'll be able to respond to y'alls comments. AND give an explanation on why I wrote this story in particular. Like what inspired me to do so and where I got the idea. After all, I want to give more to you guys as a way of thanking you for y'alls show of support. I assume these blogs are like a diary to show to others and I'll treat it that way.
Thank ya'll so much and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS! And even though it's over HAPPY HANUKKAH! God bless
You are so welcome. You deserve it. It’s a great story.
I agree, it was a very nice story. I loved the speech Spike said for Twilight. It was amazing. And also, Happy Hearth's Warming for you as well!
A lovely fic deserves praise, glad to see that you've received both praise and constructive criticism. Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays to you and yours, looking forward to what you have next in store for us coughsequelcough
