As I fly on by,
Up in this ashen sky,
And no pretty bird sings,
Where I'll stay locked up tight,
Caged by my own hate,
Fighting off an eternal blight,
Somebody tell me, please,
Is this my fate!?
To do nothing more than soar,
on these...
ON THESE BROKEN WINGS
I can't see,
Past the darkness in me,
And I keep losing my way in this downpour of pain,
it's an inner, never ending rain,
And why do I hide,
Every time you peer inside,
And why do I lie every time,
Saying that I feel just fine,
'Cause all I know,
Is that I'll never show,
How to break down my walls,
How to navigate my halls,
And you'll never find,
The way into my fractured mind,
But, I'll tell you something,
Come close, listen to this little birdie,
Yeah, The one with the broken wing,
As I soar by,
Through the ashen sky,
Where no pretty bird sings,
Where I'm shielded from the light,
Across the land you'll feel my ire,
Everything will burn bright,
'Cause it's time for dragon fire,
And I'll soar on these...

I am not okay,
And there might be a way,
To save my soul,
But I'll never know,
'Cause I can't see,
Through this veil in me...
Yeah, I have no idea where this came from... I put pencil to paper and next thing I knew somebody was telling me how great a job I did...... Hopefully I can also make this into a song before long...
