Something That I Have To Admit- My Mental Challenges

Over the past like 4 years, I've had to deal with severe depression and mild to moderate anxiety. I use the diapered stories and diapers to help me cope with these things that make it really hard to function. I hope you can understand, that it hurts a lot and I don't want insults being thrown at my way. You can insult my writing but please don't insult me personally. I also have had to deal with

On a very personal level I will have to go with "Don't worry. You won't need your eyes to find your place in the world."

This line from Snowdrop comes after Snowdrop wonders why her mom says she should save her wishes for something she really needs. Snowdrop can't understand why needing eyesight wouldn't be a worthwhile wish. This is when her mom, Primrose, points out what she 'Can Do' instead of the 'Can't Dos' of having no eyesight.

The message is one that applies to all conditions, situations, etc. We may 'wish' we could be without them but they are what make us who we are. Moreover is how we can choose to decide if a 'condition' defines us or if we define our condition.

Nobody is truly 'Normal' and those who think they are are in denial of reality. We are each unique with our own array of challenges, triumphs, and day-to-day activity. It's finding inspiration in what we can do instead of letting societal perceptions tell us what we can, or cannot, do that really matters.

We can all be friends to help others as snowdrop's mom did for her. We can show each other what makes us special, encourage us to be our best, and aid each other in being as "High Functioning" as we can all be. Disability comes from barriers put up by ourselves and those who are ignorant to how to help and be open-minded. Through friendship we can remove this ignorance, create a true sense of community, and discover how truly "High Functioning" we all are with just a little friendship. :)

You win! What request would you like?

I, as I'm sure you did as well, had hoped for more entries. However I'm sure more folks will get involved with your writing and arts as you further share your talents here on the site and elsewhere. :)

If you'd want to, and only if you are feeling it, I'd love to have a pic of a padded Sweetie Belle or Spike. Nothing super tricky. Just them looking happy with big doe-eyes like they are just looking for a cuddle. (Again, it's up to you if you want to do this as I truly just enjoyed having a chance to think through your blog.)
