Finlands 100th Independancy Day · 9:46pm Dec 6th, 2017
On the 6th of December 1917, Finland was declared an independant country.
This ment they were no longer governed by the Russian tsar, nor did Sweden have any influnces over them, as they had in the past. They were free to care for themselves in all aspects.
On the 6th of December 2017 Finland celebrates 100 years of independancy.
Despite heavy onslaught and attempts at reconcurring from Russia - mainly during the Finnish Winter War in 1939 and the continuation war between 1941 and 1944, and loosing a lot of land which to this day remains Russian soil, Finland has stayed strong and independant.
As the paternal side of my family are Swedish speaking Finnish, and I am very proud of my Finnish heritage, I wanted to share this special date with all my followers!
Happy Independence Day to the Finish!
