If you're enjoying Displaced Into Nothing... · 7:26am Nov 25th, 2017
Hey there readers, sorry the update's been taking so long. I've been busy, and it's just not coming to me like it was at the beginning. Hopefully I'll get a good long stretch of time to myself soon to plow through it: Chapter 6 is almost fully written out, so it's maybe 90% of the way to being actually released.
In the mean time, I'd like to recommend a very similar story, in which a not-so-good human is Displaced as a powerful entity, and deals with a dark past while trying to make peace with ponies who can only see her as a monster.
Hollow Shades is one of the best HiE fics I've ever read, and one of only a few others to treat a Displaced story as a horror scenario. Sadly, it does leave a few questions unexplored, but there's a sequel I haven't read, so maybe I'll get my answers there. There's also a problem with them not properly proofreading: they have missing or misspelled words about once every few paragraphs, which can be annoying, but otherwise the story is good enough for me to overlook them.
Hoping to get Chapter 6 to you soon, even if I have to put it out in sections again. I'd like to have at least something out this month...
how are they a not so good human when you just said they are trying to befriend the ponies?

You'll gave to read the first chapter to find out.
I read that story as it was realeased, and it quickly became one of my favorite Displaced stories.
It blows that I've read it already.
Still waitin' for that sequel.

Yeah, the prologue and story description both explain that she's a criminal. The whole story revolves around her desperately trying NOT to kill ponies, because she just wants to be friends. Her being a criminal but wanting to not fight ponies is basically the whole plot of the story.

Middy reviewed this a while back, and linked the review, and the review gave me some inspiration while writing one of the more recent chapters of Displaced Into Nothing, so last time I wanted to sit down with a good horror story, this was the one.

Yeah, I just read the Christmas special, and am also hoping to see the sequel soon. It's a very good story, mainly by basis of taking itself seriously as a literary work and trying to tell a unique and thought provoking story, as opposed to wish-fulfilment or cool-factor. It sometimes shows up in the related fics for Into Nothing, and I'd like to see it there more, so that's part of why I linked it.

Sorry, that was a bug from trying to respond from my phone.

the moment you said
I was convinced, the main reason I dislike displaced stories is because it is not trying to be serious.
so if that one does take itself seriously I will definitely give it a read

Ah.
