WRITING STYLE
A WRITER’S STYLE IS WHAT SETS HIS OR HER WRITING APART and makes it unique. Style is the way writing is dressed up (or down) to fit the specific context, purpose, or audience. Word choice, sentence fluency, and the writer’s voice — all contribute to the style of a piece of writing. How a writer chooses words and structures sentences to achieve a certain effect is also an element of style.
Style is not a matter of right and wrong but of what is appropriate for a particular setting and audience. What changed was the audience.
I have my own writing style but my grammar needs to be practice more. My story has its on sentence fluency and word choice but it is needed to be edited to make sure the story is as flawless as it can be.
I never condemn other people's writing style because to me, if I understand the story, that's enough for me. My style of writing is straight to the story and maybe a few scenery words because I know every writers and readers in this website know where Equestria is, where the cities like Canterlot & Manehattan, towns like Ponyville even nations like Crystal Empire & Saddle Arabia.
That's why I can still accept the critics about grammar, about the flow of the story but not about writing style.
About capslock chapter title; did George Lucas puts 'Star Wars the Jedi Awaken or STAR WARS THE JEDI AWAKEN? Why the need to make them an issue?
I do learn a lot from reading the fanfictions from more experience writers and always try my best to make sure the grammar is correct and the flow of the story is smooth but when the experienced writer decide to act like svengallop and force the newbie to follow his style, it won't help the newbie learn anything at all. They will just copy paste their story based on that writer's style of writing thus killing the story and the idea they want to create.
Anyway this is only my opinion
