This is why I don't play Minecraft anymore. · 12:11am Nov 18th, 2017
Or at least, servers.
'Cause it's kinda impossible to play really anything when everyone around you is seemingly teleporting every five or so seconds.
Screw you, Comcast.
EDIT: One more thing: Hotel wifi is literally better than my own, and that's saying something. Not that I'm currently at one right now, just something that I remembered from over Summer Break.
this is the reason i my self do not play on open servers or pvp servers.
i will give you a shout when i finally get my server up next year witch will be pve and invite only and teh server will be built to handle lag spikes.

No, it's not server side lag. It's my internet connection. A server meant to handle lag spikes wouldn't be able to do anything about client-side latency.

this is vary true but a player doing a RTP would not affect your player if they are out side of a 5 chunk radius from you.

I know. But it still wouldn't help with lag on my end with how often my internet drops out. In the past month and a half I've won exactly one minigame.

i know how that is. i had satellite for a bit back in 1998 or 99 now that sucked.

Back from trying to play Cake Wars on Mineplex. It was my team and the other one left and suddenly everything froze before I got disconnected.
I HAD FULL ARMOR AND EVERYTHING TOO!

i feel your pain.
i am on crappy frontier DSL hear and i hate to say it is better than that.

It's worse on weekdays. Most of my homework is online, so one minute I'm about to enter in the solution to an equation on my math homework, the next I find myself spending 15 minutes or so waiting for the internet to work again.
Basically, there's a clear reason why I've beaten 700+ levels of Angry Birds and created a sprawling city in Singleplayer Minecraft.
And restored multiple mid to late 90s era computers.
And upgraded my laptop by literally opening it up and replacing the aging processor.
And maxed out my monthly high-speed unlimited 4G allowance and found myself being throttled for overusage. 6 gigs doesn't take long before you wind up waiting twice as long for things to load.

i feel for you.

And while speedtest.net reports ~40mbps download, the real-world speed when I'm actually using something like playing Minecraft or watching youtube or doing homework is usually crap.
I have a feeling that Comcast might be artificially changing speedtest to a "fast lane" of sorts, given how even though it's currently illegal according to Net Neutrality laws, the current chairman of the FCC seems intent on tearing down anything good for the internet and pouring money into ISP pockets.
Once again, I repeat myself: Screw Comcast.

i would beet it is bursting you get 40 them you get .5

It is. I usually download large files to my phone over my school's wifi and then transfer to my computer after school.
I like Minecraft.
