Lots of people put other's down for when they voice act an existing character, they don't sound like the original voice actor.
Well there's a very good reason for that... it's because they AREN'T the original actor. they can NEVER sound exactly the same, but just because of that doesn't mean they can't voice act or sing just as good themselves.
Let me demonstrate with something I just recorded. ME, singing Evermore form Beauty and the Beast 2017 (Haven't seen the movie yet)
Pretty neat eh (And looks like I'm not as TALENTLESS as haters and mockers make me out to be)
And here, let's COMPARE voices. This one is me singing ALONG with Dan Stevens voice. A few words are out of sync due to me singing in my own style, but it's still fine.
So, even though I'm not Dan Stevens, I'm still pretty good just myself.
So don't let people put you down when you voice act or sing for another character just because you're not the original. Just do YOUR best and be more YOU.
Even Tara Strong supports this idea.
I am with him this one people shouldn't drag people down when someone voices something that doesn't sound like the original voice sounds like.of course they don't sound like the original not very share the same voice
Well, I'm not a fan of the song to be honest, but your performance was pretty good.
How I see it, there's a difference between being a voice actor and being an impressionist. Too many people think they're one and the same, but they're not. Too many people think that what makes a good voice actor is how much they sound like the original. And though that can enhance the experience, that is by definition impressionism. The operative word in voice acting is "acting". Being a voice actor isn't just about sounding like someone, it's about also being able to portray their personality and emotions.
Personally, I've never come across people who have made these criticisms before (other than as constructive criticism). But I did go on a tangent in that last paragraph. If you want my opinion, I was honestly impressed by your performance.

Well people like to rat on me, calling me a talentless hack, and like I said before THERE ARE others who put you down for not sounding like the original
There are also people who cannot seem to respect that I only have HOME equipment, not a fancy studio's worth. So I can't sound super duper 100% (I can only give my best)
Then again, all those people only care ot mock and hurt feelings anyway (Regardless if their standards are met) I just keep on going
