Season finale theory · 3:08am Oct 24th, 2017
From what I saw at the end of the most recent episodes end (the book in the barrel in the last scene) and the description I read on direct tv for the finale I think they are finally using something from the comics as I think the pony if shadows ( who the tv description mentions ) is the evil ancester that the pony who was erasing all knowledge of from the world in an attempt to keep him from coming back.
He kinda looked like a reformed Changeling.
My single one hope is that we ultimately see a changeling who has gone neon colors, and is STILL evil. "Of course I love others... I just don't love YOU!" After all, how many monsters in story telling have been inspired by their love? (Gendo Ikari of Evangelion's goal was to be reunited with his wife, and he used and disposed of people for that one goal without hesitation. SEELE was technically more evil than him, and had done much worse and planned much worse, but THEIR evil was mostly off screen, so they're given a throw away death in most fanworks, while Gendo's on screen evil in spite of having (relatively) more noble motives and ends, he's treated more as the true evil of the series.
And we have Dracula of Castlevania, because he couldn't accept loss, he blamed God. And when he couldn't accept loss a second time, he blamed all of humanity. And we saw that he couldn't have handled loss of love a third time either!)
And we have in the Green Lantern comics, a woman who receives a Star Sapphire ring, meaning she's capable of great love. The Green Lantern guarding her naively thinks that love must be for him... it isn't, it's for her Clan, she kills him without hesitation as they embrace.
And Gla-DOS in Portal was given a morality core... that was COMPLETELY SILENT, and did little to nothing to stop Gla-DOS' blood thirsty tendencies.
Too bad I imagine the Network or the Toy Company would never allow that.
