A hobbyist author who simply could not resist returning to the fandom, because there's just something strangely difficult to resist about magical, talking, technicolour equines.

It is thirteen minutes past ten at night.

I have not had a day off in nine days. By my next day off, that number will be thirteen days. I have not made any progress on my writing. None of this is a complaint, but I am extremely tired and I haven't really managed to get any writing done. 's just how it's been this week.

Progress has been slow. That is part of why I am writing this post, actually. In the past week, all I've managed to do is set out a few character profiles, and start trying to figure out the plot. I'm stuck on one particular plot point, and have come up with three possible solutions:
    1) Stay stuck until I figure it out,

    Screaming Into the Void

It's been nearly a year since I was last here. So I don't know if I even have any followers - certainly back before I left I didn't have many.

    Updoot: An Executive Decision

So for anyone who's been spying on my almost dead account for god knows how long waiting for an update to A Duet of Hearts, I have decided to take it down until I have finished writing at least the first draft. Once that's all sound, I'll read through the whole thing as a fic and make any edits that I feel need to be made. Then I'll find a couple people willing to preread and review it, and

I'm not dead, I can promise yeh.

Contrary to unpopular belief, I am not dead. Also, by the way, I just came to a massive realisation. Rainbow Dash appeared to show a prehensile mane in Newbie Dash. This wasn't a new thing, though; in The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone, we see her do the same thing when mimicking Twilight. Interesting.

Progress has been slow. That is part of why I am writing this post, actually. In the past week, all I've managed to do is set out a few character profiles, and start trying to figure out the plot. I'm stuck on one particular plot point, and have come up with three possible solutions:
1) Stay stuck until I figure it out,
2) Skip the details and plan the rest of the plot as though the issue has been resolved in hopes that I'll figure it out somewhere along
the way, or
3) Write the story up to that point in hopes that a resolution will appear in my mind naturally as I do.

Right now, I'm leaning towards the second idea, resorting to the third only if that doesn't work.

I know this blog thing works - before I wrote this and condensed my thoughts, I had no solutions. I am beginning to see why so many people keep - or kept - journals and diaries. As with the last post, no tags - no one needs to see this that isn't already following me.

I'd say go with #2. Plan everything else. Eventually, something you write may give you an idea of how you can make a certain part of the story to work.

Taking a break and going for a walk is also something I do a lot when I get stuck.
