Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

Haze is a story that is filled with big ideas: Cloud empires. Flying earth ponies. Ancient religions. Superpower-inducing fungi. Unfortunately, much like the mushroom-munching ponies in this story, this story might be biting off more than it can handle…

Illustration: "Breakfast With the Family" - "The Iron Horse" COMPLETED Gallery! · 9:43pm Oct 21st, 2017

In the last chapter of The Iron Horse, there’s a specific scene that a lot of you wanted to see illustrated. Specifically, the scene where Turing Test sees her siblings, including Georgia Peach, and Cobbler at the breakfast table. Well, a reader named Circuit Breaker went ahead and commissioned Greenfinger to draw it! Check it out below the break! (Spoilers if you haven’t read that far, obviously.)

Ready? Here it is!

Personally, I’m thrilled with how it turned out. In case you’re uncertain of who’s who, from left to right it’s Turing Test (lower left), Cobbler, 001, 002, Georgia Peach, and 004. You can tell a bit by the color of their eyes as well, which matches their robotic forms, and some of their other traits, like 002’s single eye and permanent scowl. Turing has no cutie mark because the chapter didn’t mention one and I stated that Green shouldn’t feel compelled to invent one. You can’t see 001 or 002’s, but Green figured he could make up one for 004. (For the record it’s “The Hammer of Justice” because in this scenario he’s a police officer.)

I’d thought about asking Green to draw this scene as well, but at the time I’d already budgeted the other two pictures and Green only had enough time to do two before the chapter was due to come out. That wasn’t the case for Circuit Breaker after the fact, however, so he generously commissioned Green to do it and gave me permission to use it. It is now in the story as an official illustration and has been added to the Gallery.

If you’d like to commission Greenfinger for something too, hit him up over on his DeviantArt page or his Twitter. Or, even if you don’t want a commission, consider following him instead so you can help support him and his work.

And on that note, The Iron Horse Illustration Gallery is COMPLETE!

That was an exceptional heart-rending scene, and deserved a pic. Very nice.

I love it. This is exactly how I pictured this scene. Well done :pinkiehappy:
