A rant due to the FDA · 12:22am Oct 21st, 2017
Vape is to tobacco in the same way major energy drinks are to coffee...
Most eliquids do derive their source of nicotine from tobacco, THEREFORE they must be tobacco products.
Many caffeinated beverages derive their source of caffeine from coffee when the beans are decaffeinated, THEREFORE they must be coffee products.
See the problem?
Vaping is a form of harm reduction. Let me make a comparison: contraceptives are also a means of harm reduction. Just because sex could spread STDs or result in unwanted pregnancies, does that mean we should refrain from sex?
I thought not.
Vaping allows people to, with relative safety, enjoy nicotine (or just flavors, 'cause there are 0mg/ml nicotine eliquids... That's right, ZERO nicotine... Are these tobacco products?), just like contraceptives allow people to, with relative safety, enjoy sex. Seatbelts allow people to, with relative safety, enjoy driving.
Need I go on?
I vape because cold turkey failed, nicotine patches failed, nicotine gum failed, wellbutrin failed, and just about any combination of the aforementioned failed. I like my nicotine buzz in the morning more than caffeine.
I'm addicted to nicotine like you are to your morning coffee.
BTW, there are non-tobacco sourced nicotine eliquids now. How the hell are those tobacco products?
Diacetyl? Debunked. Formaldehyde? Debunked. Gateway drug? Debunked. Explosive vapes? Only if you are competing for a Darwin Award (so... Debunked). Where oh where is the DEMONSTRABLE HARM vaping does?
Vaping isn't smoking, so stop treating as such.
