Concerning the new book... · 2:54am Oct 16th, 2017

...The one with Scootaloo's aunt(s) being lesbian... :ajbemused:

No. Just no.

I ask that anyone who knows of this book, or at least the lesbian concept, to oppose it, and I propose a boycott of the book itself if this is really happening and the author(s) has (have) not changed it by the time its out. This shouldn't be allowed to become mainstream. Moreover, they're pushing it off on kids, given the target audience would typically be for little girls here if the brony fandom hadn't developed, and given that the rating for the book will probably be for eight to twelve-year old girls.

Please, pray that this book is either changed or does not come to fruition, and that even if it does come out, that remains non-canon.

May God go with you all, and please don't fall into hatred here; I simply believe that this concept is wrong.

In my opinion the idea that being lesbian is wrong is hatred. I am dissapointed that is even a thing about some religions. Times are changing, they ALWAYS are. And religion dosn't seem to be adapting to the present, people shouldn't let what they think is right or wrong be influince by religion. I just don't get it why this is even a thing.

this really shoul not be a thing

Quite a few religious people, myself included, are pro gay-marriage

Dude, the relationship status of Scootaloo's aunts is not even the main focus of the story. We shouldn't boycott a book just because of the background details in it.

Aren't you Catholic, though? That should mean that you are against it. Last I knew, the Pope hasn't changed the Church's stance on homosexuality.

Fire, there is a reason these children who read the books have parents or elders in their family to explain things to them. (MLP is PG, not TV-Y). Personally I have nothing against same gender marriage, would I marry a guy...? Hell to the bucking no, not my type. Still, it has always been sort of hinted at Scoots being an orphan, this could explain that she was adopted by two ponies who genuinely cared about her, and I have known several couples the are F-F or even a few M-M that have adopted children who wouldn't otherwise be adopted.

An old saying, Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Now, I am not even going to get into the religion aspect, but as far as I can tell, no ponies/dragons/griffons, ect are christian.

I personally see no problem with it. God has a plan for everyone. If that plan includes who you love, well. Plus, I generally don't care who a person marries as long as A. They're both the age of consent, and B. Its consensual on both sides

*shrug* As far as we know, they're actually just regular old aunts. But even if they aren't, there still is the fact that some little girl out there is going to think 'huh, Scootaloo has two mums/two aunts, just like I do.' That's all I'm going to say about it.

I agree.

When I first found out about the whole thing, I couldn’t help but feel a lot like these guys here:

I literally got off the wall mad about this, and I even wrote a letter to Hasbro complaining about it.
