My Little Pony: The Movie · 3:24am Oct 11th, 2017
Having just seen the 2017 movie, I can honestly say that I am impressed. This film shows exactly why MLP:FiM was at one time a great animation to watch at one time. The character personalities matched. The story kept my attention and didn't need the moments I keep running into in season 7 and season 6 where I sit back and ask, "Why?". The songs were actually catchy, especially Emily Blunt's Open Up Your Eyes and Sia Rainbow. If anything, I would recommend watching the first five seasons of the show, then skipping season 6 and 7 and going to watch the full length movie. Even the choice of big-name stars didn't diminish the enjoyment and balanced nicely with the voice actresses of the main six and Spike. Was this movie without flaws? No. But what piece isn't, whether it is a movie, song, book, or other. And if there are flaws, they are not enough to detract away from joy seeing My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on the silver screen. Especially after a two to three year wait, when it was first announced back in 2014, 2015.
