Entry #45- Lore and Lies

Sorry, it’s been a while since I wrote a journal entry. I’ve been debating whether I really want to write a journal entry here weekly- maybe I’ll do every other week. It does take time I could be working on other projects to work on these. Although I suppose instead of three episodes at a time, I could do one. We’ll see.

Campfire Tales- I love these stories! I’d really like to see more of these ancient pony lands- especially Rockhoof’s village. Yay Viking ponies! I like how well the comics are meshing with the TV series too- they don’t do that too often.
Mistmane was probably my favorite story, but it seemed that she was the one that we got the most of her personality of the trio, so it might be easier to empathize with her.

To Change a Changeling- I like Pharynx’s design, but it is odd we didn’t see him in the show before now. I wonder if Pharynx had a little color to him because he got love from Thorax as a kid. That wouldn’t explain why Thorax didn’t get colorful though- maybe because Pharnyx was trying to be a model changeling, so was resisting his fraternal feelings? Kinda wanna make a comic about that.

Daring Done?- Yay, another pony legend! I like the design of these Egyptian-styled ponies, and Somnambula is adorable! And I like to see more monsters in MLP to shake things up, so a pony-sphinx was great! (I liked the giant snake in the comic, too!)
But how does an author not research the culture she’s visiting? Especially when going on adventures- saying the wrong thing could get you hurt, or block you from resources you may need. I dunno, Daring’s willingness to give up just seemed a little out of character.
Twilight totally should’ve come, too- but maybe she was busy with Princess duties.
