[Pokemon] Oct. 5th Trailer (Analysis) · 2:19pm Oct 5th, 2017

First of all, I just want to make mention that my sister is forcing me to purchase Ultra Sun. I was originally disappointed with this, until this trailer dropped and now I kinda want Ultra Sun. Here's why.

One, you are able to RIDE SOLGALEO THROUGH SPACE! Fuck riding Rayquaza in ORAS, you can actually control the fucker and play a minigame! Then you can explore the different worlds of different Ultra Beasts, I CALLED THAT SHIT! Granted so did everyone else, but now it's confirmed and now I'm extremely happy. Also wow, who else saw the jumping Xurkitree in the background when the trailer showed off the Xurkitree world? That was amazing.

Second off, and here's the big one, we finally have info on the mysterious figures in the poster. They are known as the Ultra Recon Squad, and they seem to be the main antagonists of the games. Of course it could all be a huge misunderstanding, but they battle you multiple times and just generally seem evil so they're probably evil. What really surprised me is that there are different squad members for different games.

In Ultra Sun, we have Dulse and Zossie. These two seem to have a sort of brother-sister relationship, which I think is really interesting though I'm not sure if they're related. These two are also the reason why I'm now okay with getting Ultra Sun because both are adorable and I want to protect them. Forget the fact they're evil, they're cute. Please, GameFreak, let me talk to them post-game.

In Ultra Moon, we have Soliera and Psyco. These guys seem a lot more professional than the others, and that's part of the reason why I think playing Sun will be a lot more fun. Having another boring duo of professional evil-doers just seems a little bland to me, but hey I know a lot of people already love moustache man and mega waifu, so who am I to complain?

Interestingly, both Dulse and Soliera have a brand-new Pokemon now only known as UB Adhesive, a pure Poison-type Pokemon that looks small and frail but is probably extremely powerful. And if you look closely, you fight Dulse or Soliera on Paniola Ranch, fairly early in the game. Good luck, newcomers. We also have information on UB Burst and UB Assembly. UB Burst is a Fire/Ghost-type, adding on to the now popular type combination, and UB Assembly is a Rock/Steel-type, still a popular type if Aggron is anything to go by. But UB Burst has something UB Assembly does not: a unique move called Mind Blown which appears to be a Fire-type move that, while powerful, cuts UB Burst's HP in half. Risky to say the least.

I'll leave with one final thing. I have a strong belief that there is a fifth Ultra Recon Squad member, a "big boss" if you will that GameFreak hasn't revealed yet. It's cool that there are different antagonists depending on what version you get, much like Ruby and Sapphire, but if I'm being totally honest, Dulse, Zossie, Soliera and Psyco all look like admins. I'm fine if there aren't any grunts for the squad, but there's got to be a big boss keeping the four all together. And they have to be somewhere in the recently revealed Ultra Megalopolis, a world that's light was stolen by Necrozma.

Actually, THEORY: the URS (Ultra Recon Squad) hails from the Ultra Megalopolis and they need your help to stop Necrozma and get the light back. Maybe these guys aren't actually so bad? Only time can tell. Though if that is the case, ladies and gentlemen...

...I think we might be dealing with the world's first truly evil Pokemon.

So they could be like team skull, which coincidentally, are the first villain team I actually liked.

They could be, but it doesn't look like there are any grunt. There could literally just be four of them. Still super interested in how they'll be incorporated into the story.
