    Strike, fade, run

“Striking, fading and running. Each of these are three well used moves, my Lady.” Twilight spoke. “Most importantly, running.”

“Why would I run?” Rarity huffed, still bent over slightly and catching her breath.

    April, with many a day…

So I just spent from the third through today (sort of, still have some driving to do) on holiday. Went to Dallas to see the Eclipse in totality, swung though Hot Springs for… well, the hot springs, and finally St Louis for a lovely riverboat dinner before bidding the Boyfriend farewell and starting the trip home.

    Well, I started it...

All Good Things... has commenced. I may have a chapter of it up tonight.

I really want to start closing out the unfinished stories, but sometimes you just can't get back into the flow for them. Sorceress and the Siren is one, Into the Wilds is another. Which is sad cause I love writing Azure.

    Homecoming, in retrospect.

Homecoming as a series is a glorious mess. I’ve gone on short bits of fluff, created some … unique ships, twisted the fabric of canon EqG, and even touched on some dark topics.

    Don't you just hate it...

When you can't find something when you need to?

Case in point, I went looking for a comment where they alluded to It being like Frodo saving the Shire for everyone but himself and had to sail to another land to find solace.

But I can't remember what fic or anything else.

    And it's frustrating to me.

    Meanwhile, in other news...

So, with Homecoming being done, and Wooing edits underway, I'm going to format them for digital printing them over the weekends, and to that end, I need to start finding a proper cover piece for the work.

I put out a call on Fiverr and most of my replies were...less than stellar. So I'm going to cast the line out to you all. If you know somepony that could work up an art piece that is appropriate for the Homecoming timeline, I'd really appreciate it.

That being said, Insurgence is likely going to be one of the final entries for the Mane 7 as far as long fictions go. I might do one more fluffy bit like Wooing, but with the threads I have to tie together in the current work, the world is going to be different in many ways. I have plenty of ideas for the children, one of which will take place following Comparing Notes.

I also have the entire Equestria 616 continuity and Bardic Lore to work with, so don't get glum. I'm not leaving any time soon.

So, since I have some free time tonight, I'm feeling like writing something completely non-continuity.

Where should I go? Bring me that horizon, guys. Prompt me.

My 7 year old daughter loves stories from Celestia and Luna's childhood. I've been telling her stories (entirely made up) for a while, but I bet you could do way better than I have. Maybe others are interested in those types of stories too? Just throwing that out there.

I may just. Though I'm sure yours are good. It's easy to tell a good story on paper/webpage, where you can edit and plan. Telling stories orally is another fish altogether and I applaud you for it.
