Persona EG: Introspective Perspective · 5:02pm Sep 24th, 2017
The three year anniversary of the first posting of Persona EG is approaching soon. I've been rereading the story recently (the past three weeks especially, as my current life upheaval has left me in the position of having little else to do but sit and read for long stretches), and while I'm making no promises, I do hope to get back to work on the story next month.
But man...
I got to the early June chapters and realized that, somehow, I actually wrote most of the story in a single year. From the very beginning through the all-important June 4 chapter, all inside of a year. That's nine months of almost daily calendar chapters in-story, written in just a realtime year, with occasional unavoidable skips.
And then things...slowed...down.
Here we are, two years later, and I've only written a month and a half's worth of in-story chapters since the story's first anniversary. Zef and I have both had many real-life issues that broke the flow of the story, then I had...a long string of just not being able to work on that particular story, which got worse and worse over time until here we are, almost October 2017, almost three years later, and a story I should have finished in early 2016 is still sadly around 20 or so chapters away from completion.
And Zef still hasn't finished all the art, but I'm not blaming him. I know things about his situation none of our readers know, and he's had a lot more to worry about than drawing fanart.
As I sit here on the floor of my aunt's front bedroom, which is half temporary Moth-Cave, half old lady rummage sale, and 80% looks like a tornado hit it, I can only hope that, once I get caught up in the reading, I'll feel inspired to pick up and start writing again, and finally finish this beast.
And, you know, do all my Patreon stuff and everything too. Officially voiding the rest of my September bumps because I honestly just need a week to completely destress after ALL THIS CRAZY SHIT LATELY, but in October, hopefully, I'll be back up to full writing spec.
I just wanted to share my thoughts on Persona EG and its turbulent history.
Yeah Persona EG is fun and definitely one of your best stories ever, maybe even one of this sites best stories. I appreciate all the work you put into it and hope once this monster is finally finished you'll be able to focus on some other stories you've put on the back burner, like your Friendship Is Magical Girls story.
Take your time at least your trying to complete it I'd seen so many danganronpa stories that has potential and could be finished but isn't and most of them was updated back in 2015 like seriously if your not going to finish it say it's cancelled or something. Uh sorry um just take your time I understand your issues I just hope it doesn't be like those other stories

Like your magical girls story, I’ve really gotten into this story (if all the comments I’ve been leaving wasn’t obvious 😝) but take your time no rush.

I wouldn't worry too much, this story has kind of reached Hunter x Hunter status where fans are willing to wait as long as it takes.

Is the phone app in your story and the metaverse app in Persona 5 a coincidence or was the app inspired by a trailer or news about Persona 5?
I for one would be fine if the story finished and Zef did the art after. Tale your time; i’m not trying to rush yiu.

Coincidence. Persona EG was first conceived in the summer of 2014, long before there were any concrete details about Persona 5.

The thing is, that's actually not possible. Zef is in charge of designing Sunset's Persona, the Final Boss, and the True Final Boss. Without his art, I can't do ANYTHING past a certain point in the writing.
