D&D: why the new OGL is really bad

There's some controversy right now about the new OGL (Open Gaming License) published by Wizards of the Coast, the company behind Dungeons & Dragons.

I don't talk about D&D here a lot, since I know it's not relevant to Fimfiction, but I think it's worth getting this news out. Also they're owned by Hasbro, the same company that own MLP, so it's worth knowing what they're up to.

Got home from the Czech Republic to find this had arrived. I now serve two masters. This means, when Brexit finally flushes Britain for good, I get to work in a country that still has an economy and some human rights.

Awfully globalist of you :)

It's only the next country over, and I do legitimately have family there.

Family I don't much talk to because of an 80 year old fued... but that's a separate story. One involving terrorism, a jailbreak, false names and falsified military records.

I hope you liked it here in the Czech Republic. If I may ask, where did you go and what did you see?
Also, I'm loving the lyre on the passport. :pinkiehappy:

Stayed in a little village in the mountains near Liberec. I enjoy climbing and scenery, so it was nice. I came away with a very positive view of the Czech people and where the country's going.

Sorry, I didn't read all the way through the blog before commenting (my excuse is commenting at 3 am after a party).

Anyway,

Do not mistake the place name Turnov for an instruction to "turn off"

:rainbowlaugh: Seriously, that's a pun I've never thought of and I LIKE it!

A lot of people have two homes. Not big ones, but they have a holiday hut somewhere to get away to. We go to one and invite some old musicians over.

Yeah, that's what you get for having a comunist goverment for 41 years. "Summer houses" / rodinné domky a rekreační chaty were one of the few ways you could own a property for a long, long time, so we stick by it. And, to be honest, I consider our "summer house" to be much more of a home than the flat we have in Prague.

Walking around Prague, thinking "This looks just like Deus Ex..."

Except for the awful Czech voice acting, that made me cringe every time I heard it, but then, in this case, I'm a minority audience. And, credit where it's due, they managed to catpure the atmosphere of the Old town quite well. It DOES look like somewhat futuristic Prague.

"I want to take something back for everybody. What is the most Czech thing I could get?" "Becherovka." "I was thinking of some chocolate or sweets..." "Becherovka." Every single person gave the same answer.

Yes, Becherovka is very Czech and very good and tasty thing to bring back. Chocolate and sweets are more of a Benelux things, we got the booze. It's a sad fact, but it's true...

Now how am I going to get rid of the rest of these Crowns?

Keep them! We have very nice banknotes and coins! it's practically a memorabilia!

When I first read the cover I thought it said "Fire Island."

That's in New York, isn't it?

4673962 I thought it was that weird resort in the Caribbean that turned into a Lord of the Flies situation a few months ago?
