About two weeks ago I woke up to find that every picture on every one of my sites including my groups on both Fim Fiction and other sites had been blocked by Photobucket (where I hosted the majority of them). Photobucket decided to be a butt monkey and block 3rd party hosting unless you pay them. Which is something I refuse to do.

Now every one of my groups, sites, and so on has all of these error messsages where the pictures should be.

I started the long process of backing up all of the pictures on ImgBB. ImgBB has been a very reliable site so far, so I am glad that I found it as a backup option.

I figure that it will probably take me two months (or more) to replace all of the pictures.

In the mean time, all of my sites look like a train wreck.

It's just frustrating and and it kind of makes me want to cry.

Just wanted to get that off my chest so I don't explode.

Thank you for listening. Carry on with your day.

Aw shucks now you are making me blush :twilightblush:

4664509 I am only stating the truth. You are am amazing person and an awesome friend. Keep on being you. XD

I am dealing with the same issue, thankfully my only actual website has embedded images and a built in gallery so no third party needed.

However many sites I am on are now down artwork, like you I now have to do backups of all my images before purging photobucket from my life. Alas, my glorious clusterfrack profile page on one site is no more.

Have some blankets to ease your pain Lyra.

4664583 I am sorry to hear that you are going through something similar. I hope that you can update all of your images rather painlessly.

Thank you for the encouraging words and the warm fluffy blankets. Both are very much appreciated. Keep on being awesome, my friend.

Well it's mostly going to be annoying mass downloading the images and transferring them to an external drive. Photo bucket was mostly a storage system for me, anything I really need for the future can be transferred to DA or something similar.

No problem Lyra, blankets help soothe one in a time like this. Keep your chin up, photobucket was going to end up like this eventually. At least there are still options out there.

4664594 I just hope that the image sites I am backing my images up on won't become greedy and start charging for 3rd party hosting as well. :L

I wish you success and good luck in backing up all of your images. ImgBB and PostImage both seem to be working good so far. If push comes to shove, there is always Facebook Images, Google images, putting images on Discord chat and copying the link, Deviant Art Stash, and other ways of backing up images.

I do the manual external drive method for images on top of external third party sites. It's worth the financial investment. Good luck with migrating the images to a new host Lyra, drink tea and curl up in blankets if things get stressful.

4664597 I have everything backed up on a few external drives as well (including software). They are useful for preserving stuff in the event of sites going down and eating your uploaded stuff. :L
