Starfleet Humans plot holes Episode VI: Return of the Jedi · 11:19pm Sep 8th, 2017
Here it is my friends, the biggest creation of all the plot holes in this whole story. The black hole of them all and the one that really rocks not just the continuity of the original, but the plot of Starfleet itself and it all circles one important mare.

Now, remember when this fic was made. Way back in 2013, before we even knew of a sci-twi or Rainbow Rocks. Hell, this was back before I even liked Sunset as much as I do now and during a time where we thought there was going to be only one of these. Never did we expect to see Sci-Twi or know if there was going to be stories about her. So, on the one hand, putting in EQG Twilight was ok to do.
Hell, the awesome fic “Seven Days in Sunny June” Does this exceptionally well, so much so that I sometimes try to figure out wich cannon is better sometimes. There are also some pretty good pieces of fanart that touch upon the same thing. There is just one big difference between those stories and this one.
They don’t usually take place BEFORE the cannon movie. However, this one does, and even ignoring Starfleet events, this story still generates a giantic plot hole just by having her here. And raises questions that just leave a guy like me scratching his head.
For instance, one is (Besides the obivious question of, if Rhymey was dating Fluttershy during the parts of the story where she broke up with her friends, then why didn’t he do anything to help her and fix her relationships? Sounds awefully suspicious to me) if Sci-twi was a student who just happened to fall into a coma during that time, then why didn’t anyone talk about it? Why wasn’t Pinkie, the most emoitional of the team, like this when she saw cannon Twilight.
“OH MY GOSH!!! Twilight!” Pinkie screamed, running over to hug her old friend, “I am so happy you got out of the coma!”
Twilight looked confused at this, “Um, hi?”
Actually, why not the rest of school acting a little weird to why Twilight was walking around and be more happy to see a student come out from her coma? You would think that the school, knowing that she was put there, would show a littl bit of a shock about the whole thing or are surprised that this new Twilight acts nothing like the old Twilight.
This also brings up the question as to why Sunset was not a little more surprised at the sight of the alicorn Twilight, you would think she would be a little taken aback by the changes between the two before she got the crown. This even goes back to the Pinkie Pie question, why wasn’t she more involved in the idea that Twilight is ok in this story.
Even when they get back together, why aren’t they happier that they are back with Twilight? Shouldn’t they be a little more excited to know about Twilight? And what about Flash, who should be a little more in touch with Twilight now that she is back.
This also brings up the question of Flash Sentry, the end of Starfleet humans just cuts back his memories to normal...why isn’t he more interested in seeing Twilight? Now that I think about it, why isn’t Twilight just a little more curious about the fact that there are the remants of a freaking alien invasion that had happened not two days before she had arrived?
Then, when you add Starfleet events, the plot holes involving Twilight just get worst. Why did her family move her away from Canterlot High? Shouldn’t they be trying to help her get her memories back by letting her stay in familar surroundings? Also, why did NO ONE check on her in the intervening two years. It’s explained in narration that they knew this...and they didn’t help her why?
This is what happens when you set a story before the events of a cannonical event and have the characters interfere with said event. It throws much of the continuity of the story out of place, to the point where the readers are left wondering as to how any of this is supposed to take place. It’s mainly because much of Starfleet relies on just the plot and not the characters; however, when you have little to no control over your characters then it begins to mess with the plot as well.
By having Sci-Twi appearing in the original story, it just raises so many questions that one must wonder if it wouldn’t have been better to not have her, or at the very least have the story set in a different school. Because as it stands, there is just so many questions have to ask for this one girl.
Some last questions (I might have more if I decide to examine Rainbow Rocks next)
-Why don’t we see EQG versions of the following: The trio, Titan, any of the other villians.
--Why didn’t the fact that the girls were feuding cause more problems?
-How is it that an alien invasion goes by unnoticed?
-Hell, how does the fact that Sapphira’s attack struck the entire planet and no one noticed.
Well, I have hit the end of the riffs. It was one fun ride and I think I learned a few things. Plus I think I know of a few plot holes to hit back in the fic. Maybe soon I’ll do RR for funies. And don’t worry, the truth about the final battle with Sapphira will be told.

What makes the plot hole surrounding Sci-Twi even worse is that we all know that Mykan only put in Twilight's human counterpart for the sole purpose of torturing her for his own amusement by having Lightning Dawn act like a hypocritical douchebag (in a way that actually contradicts what little character he had). "What kind of name is 'Twilight Sparkle'", anyone?
When you say 'RR', you mean 'Starpops' (still such a stupid name), right? Of course the idiocy doesn't end there because we also have, to name a few: an eleven-person band, how they got their band name, Mykan trying and failing to write lyrics, and that song Lightning and Starla sung.
I can't wait to see how the fight with Sapphira actually went. I already know you'll do it much better than the original. Hopefully, they'll be something more entertaining that Grandruler's transforming limo.

The sad part is tha t I wanted that to be cool. It should've been cool, like saying you had a rocket car or a car that turns into a mecha (See Twisted Metal Black) but it wasn't! How could you mess a cool thing like a transforming car up!
Oh yeah, because see...Rainbow Rocks is my favorite of the group, and is why I love Sunset. So, yeah, the plot holes are going to hurt.

I remember reading the MST of Starfleet Humans and how everyone riffing the fic assumed Grandruler had lost his mind in that part of the story.
If you do decide to do it, I wish you luck and you have my sympathies. That fic was so bad that even reading the MST was a chore to get through.

Guys, all of you are very knowledgeable of Mykan's version of Equestria Girls, that I cannot chatter with all you guys about it. I only read MLU from about half-way of season two, before throwing it away in the literary garbage pile, sadly it can't be burned. I have read too much quality fiction, that I can't stomach unintentionally bad fanfics anymore.
All I can do is read your blogs, or an mst to lessen the acid volumes. I can't find the mst about DKM's EQG at all.
Will you include the titan trio in your story? Or raven for that matter

I am thinking about it. The question becomes of where they will show up and how to interpit them. I am tempted to say that Kudos is actually the nicest scientist in the world and works with Emil Hamilton in S.T.A.R. labs where he wants to better human kind. Just for irony's sake. (Though Raven will most likely say that she was named after her mom and dad were saved by the superhero Raven.)

Let's see: Lighting used his super strenght to outdo everyone, make them feel inadequate and lame (Please see how Dash felt lost without Lighting to save her at the big game.) Beat Celestia and used past trauma as a tool against her, insulted and demaned Twilight on several occasions along with Spike. Hell, he almost kicked Spike and called Twilight everty bad name in the book. Used his superior intellengce to play in a drama he had no business in and got the lead role at the expense of people who WANTED to be in it. Hell, so did Starla. Ignored the fact that the humane 5 were fighting each other and basically went "Eh, leave them to rot."
Am I missing anything. And mind you...this is just the human side of things. And yes, not using your powers for good is a form of Bullying.

Oh my, this is barely scratching the surface of what Lightning and his cohorts do in other "episodes" and specials. Just let him make a fool of himself, and lets read how LB tears DKM's world apart. For me I kept eating too many chocolate bars just to get through most boring episodes, and for the disturbing ones I had to chug a lot of milk tea on the verge of getting diabetes, just to get through it. I stopped reading when I realized I'm on a highway to death.
Yes, that's right. Mykan's stories can kill you, and make you play a drinking game unintentionally.
