    Coming Soon, Really

I've been a bit under the weather since Trotcon, but feeling better now.

This weekend I need to work on putting together some poni stuff for my niece (she's up here for her birthday), and my inability to do basic things makes that a bit difficult. So I may be delayed a few days on the Trotcon retro and the other long post I still really really want to share with y'all.

Twilight's Enigmatic Clarification (AI ≠ LLM GAI)

To head off any possible confusion, I've added a clarification to TEEE's story page and a note at the top of the chapter explaining that TEEE was not written using LLM generative AI (the story actually predates this technology by several years).

I will be at Trotcon. Still alive.

I remain alive, and as of June 13th am now the number of symmetries in a cube.

    I will be at Trotcon.

Please contact me if you're there! (Or even if not, that's okay too.) :pinkiesad2:

I might do an author party. I'll announce it with another post. Signal boost would be useful.

I am still alive and also at AnthrOhio

Sorry for disappearing. Ironically the thing I wanna talk about is the thing that keeps me from being here at FF or getting anything done. :facehoof:

I can't read.

I can't even read these. :facehoof:

Well, obviously that's deceptive. I wouldn't be able to write pn0y, let alone quality non-smut horsewords, if I weren't able to read properly. The problem is I can't force myself to read, like, anything.

I intend to change that now.

I've spent a lot of time taking my "Read It Never" bookshelf and sorting it into reading categories organized by priority: Read It Now, Read It Sooner, Read It Later, and Read It Fap.

The following authors have the distinction of having earned slots in all four categories: Aragon, Bad Horse, bookplayer, CoffeeMinion, Cold in Gardez, Dubs Rewatcher, FanOfMostEverything, GaPJaxie, Georg, horizon, Lise Eclaire, Majin Syeekoh, Monochromatic, Morning Sun*, MrNumbers, ocalhoun, Oroboro, Pascoite, PaulAsaran, Posh, PresentPerfect, Sharp Spark, Skywriter, shortskirtsandexplosions, The Abyss, Titanium Dragon, and Wanderer D.

* Somehow she did this with only five stories to her name. In retrospect I'm not sure why I decided to read any of these, but it's still less shameful than having Majin stories throughout my shelves.

Honorable mentions to excellent authors billymorph and Orbiting Kettle, who apparently never write anything super-adorable or romantic enough to merit a Read It Fap; and to excellent authors Mercury Zero and The Cyan Recluse, who both need to write more stories in general.

So, here's what this means.

First, those four bookshelves in my library are now public. Luna help us all.

Second, I'm going to be reviewing stories now, and eventually there will be a public shelf for the Review Queue (in private this exists already, by the way, as there were a hoofful of stories I'd actually read and kept track of long ago—in some cases this may explain why something isn't in the Read It shelves). I'll be posting a heavily-bastardized version of horizon (or whoever I forget)'s HORSE system that will be so different (not proportional, for one) that it won't need to maintain the GPL license so I don't even need to mention that it looks a little similar. But I am.

Third, I'll probably take a second run through the shelves and start knocking down stories that are less important or removing them entirely. Don't expect that stuff will stay.

Before any of this makes progress, however, I'm finally going to update Twilight's Secret Journal. The most recent chapter has been an unusual pain in the dock to write, and updates following this one should happen more regularly. I'll be spending a lot of time this weekend to finish it (I need to rewrite the whole freaking thing to correct it properly), and it will be posted no later than Monday midnight (but probably much sooner than this).

Then I will collect from my patrons, for the very first time. It will be a grand total of $1 for several weeks of work.

Best of luck. I hope you enjoy all there is to experience on those shelves.

Wow, you mean you're actually going to read fics in your Read It Later? Pft. Nobody does that.

I'm excite :D

You should read Austraeoh.

I am excited to see what comes of this! :yay: I'll confess I was also curious what of mine made the lists, and I see Fernando attained his rightful place. :pinkiecrazy:

Similar problem myself, but I'm focusing on the classics on Gutenberg project first. King Solomon's Mines is the shit, man, seriously. Scarlet Pimpernel is pretty much a hilarious fanfic of the French Revolution, also recommended :rainbowlaugh:

You keep deleting all your stories, some of which had been on my lists before they faded away.

That isn't really for you to decide.

Ugh, I need to catch up on my reading, too. It was so much easier when I worked part-time, but I think I'm actually reading less now than when I worked 68-hour weeks. I just seem to be falling behind on everything. I've even wasted this entire day — which was supposed to be spent getting ready to move — and I have no idea why

Those are some great authors you've mentioned. An Orbitting Kettle fic actually sounds really good right about now

I forgot to add you to the list. You're in all four categories, if I'd bothered to check your stories closely enough. :facehoof:

Ooh, neat.
