The Best Picture Storage Websites

Recently, Photobucket decided to be a butt monkey and charge its users to put their stored images on other websites (or what many sites call 3rd party hosting). So all of the images on every one of my sites was blocked.

I tried to use the backup images that I had on Imgur and some other picture storage sites, but those sites blocked my ability to place my images on other websites as well.

As a result, I have had to manually re-upload each picture and replace the picture codes on my websites with the new links. As you can imagine, I am less than thrilled about this, but it is something that must be done.

To save other people from such a disaster, I just thought I would share two photo storage websites that some of my friends told me about for anyone who is looking for a place to store their pictures.

The first site my friends told me about is Postimage. You can upload as many pictures as you like to your account and you can upload pictures to the site from a URL. You can create galleries to organize your pictures and easily get links to use the images however you want on other sites.

The second site I was informed about is ImgBB. Like Postimage, you can upload as many images to your account as you want. You can upload images in batches (to save upload time). And you can make galleries to organize the images. You can also easily find links to use the uploaded images however you want on other sites.

I definitely recommend checking out both of these sites. They really saved my butt with this whole Photobucket and Imgur disaster. Thank you to the friends who recommended these sites to me.

And I hope that this information can help anyone else who is looking for a reliable place to upload their images.

Well that sure beats my brilliant plan of using Discord for picture storage.

4652757 The only problem with using Discord for picture storage is that it resizes the images. Postimage and imgBB will upload the full image size.

You could also use Pinterest, Google+, and Facebook to store images but I have noticed that they resize uploaded images too. So Postimage and imgBB are the best options for picture storage when it comes to convenience and maintaining the uploaded images sizes.

Before imgbb I had a Weebly site filled to the brim with images on a hidden page. Obviously an image host is easier to use than to use a website that you have to manually add images to.

That's the only problem? Huh good to know.

4652767 I had a ton of backup picture storage sites but they all decided to be greedy and make it so that you couldn't host the images on other sites. <_<

I am grateful that people told me about Postimage and imgBB. It really saved my butt, even though it is taking me a long time to re-upload all of the images and replace the image links. T^T

Photobucket is still a thing?

4652900 Yes, I used them for years. But just this year they decided to charge for third party hosting. So I had to find better options to upload, store, and share my images on.

Dang, I remember when imageshack used to be the goto for image storage before they wiped everything and redid it.

I wonder if we'll ever be at peace when it comes to image hosting.

4653054 I actually used to use ImageShack too (along with Photobucket and a few other backup sites), before they did that site update and put upload storage space limits on free accounts/ added a 3-tier membership program for hosting images. It's rather annoying when photo storage sites do this, to be honest. Especially when it had been free to upload images onto them for YEARS (such as with Photobucket and ImageShack) and they just spring a payment plan on you out of the blue one day. It's very dishonest, in my opinion. :L

If I ever need to use picture storage I will use these. Thank you Lyra
